Shoe size

Rebecca, on September 12, 2018 at 21:16 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 12
Hello
I have found a cute pair of shoes I quite adore however they don't come in a size 9 and a half. The 9s fit good but everyone keeps telling me to go to a 10. I have one foot that is a half in smaller and I walk out of the tens.
Help?! What do ya'll recoomend.

Get a bigger size for sure. You can definitely work with those to fit inserts in to make them fit you.

Get the bigger ones and pop a shoe cushion or insert in, they generally make the shoe about half a size smaller and plus they will make the shoes comfier! Aldo shoes generally has a good selection of them for heals

Hey all, thanks so much for you input thus far. Here is a picture of the shoes in question. They're a closed pointed toe which I think is the only thing I'm concerned about. The heel doesnt cut in, the straps dont cut across my feet badly. I'm still torn. Up a size or stick with the 9s

I would definitely go up a size and have the insoles replaced with leather by a shoemaker. I do this for most of my shoes its a more permanent solution than gels that move out of place all night. Its sooo comfortable and well worth it

If the 9's are decently comfortable (like you're not squishing your foot in), then I second the cobbler route! I had to get my shoes stretched for a wedding I was in. The straps were cutting off my circulation.

Go to a good cobbler and give yourself lots of time. A good cobbler will stretch the shoes gradually over a day or two, so if they say they can do it while you stand there....RUN!

I took my bridesmaid shoes to my usual shoe guy, but his stretching machines were booked up for a whole month (because each pair takes a whole day). I took it to another guy, who did it while I stood there. and wouldn't you know he stretched my shoes too fast, and the leather got ugly ass wrinkles. To boot, he somehow got black shoe polish on the side of my nude shoes.

I have one differing opinion, but it depends on the fabric of the shoe.... If they are indeed fabric, or some sort of material that is capable of stretching, and the 9s actually fit... like not you squeezing into them... then you could get the 9s, take them to a cobbler (shoe place), and they will stretch them exactly how you need (width vs length, more on one shoe vs the other, etc)...

If it's a pretty structured shoe that has no give, then you may want to consider swollen feet by the end of the evening, and adjust the 10s as the others said.

Or total devil's advocate... keep looking for shoes that will come in your size... it's your wedding day, you don't want to be remembering how uncomfortable your shoes were (too big or too small).

I would get the 10s and add gel insoles. I'm an 8 and a half so I can squeeze into 8s, walk out of 9s but I got 9s for my wedding and gel insoles so they are more snug. My feet swell (especially if I'm standing/dancing/walking all day) so I will probably take them out at some point too lol.

Agree with others. Nothing worse than squished toes on your wedding day! You can always add something to the shoe to fill it in.

I’d say go with a 10. I’d add an insole for the start of the day and remove them later in the evening, as your feet may swell a bit from wearing them all day (and dancing in them)!!

10s with full insoles and you will be good! I once bought a pair of shoes I didn't realize were too big till I was out and I stuffed the toe with tissue 😂😂😂 but full insole will do the trick. Trust me! Aldo, even Walmart have great options.

If they are absolutely the shoes that you want to use for your wedding I would say to go with 10's. You can always try shrinking them with DIY's and if that doesn't work then you can insert some foam or tape in order for them to fit better. If you get them smaller you are hoping that the shoes will get bigger but if they don't then you are stuck with squished feet. Got any pretty pics?
