Sending Save-the-dates Digitally

Erin, on June 25, 2018 at 10:44 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10

We're just over a year to our wedding and it's time to start thinking about sending the Save-The Dates! We're planning on getting them out in September so it's exactly a year prior to the wedding. The Save-The-Date is done - a friend of mine designed it for me - and now it's just a matter of collecting all the addresses! I will be sending them out digitally, with a few exceptions for people who don't use or have email.

What did you find was the best way to collect addresses (email or otherwise) from people? It seems like an awful lot of work to ask everyone individually, but I can't think of any other easier way to do it!

Google docs has a software to make forms, I am planning on sending the link to that file via fb or text so they can fill out their information there.

We did out save the dates digitally and added the link for our wedding website. We requested the guests added their emails when they log in to the website so that we can send emaild requesting addresses etc. We still had to message several via fb and text but it helped 😊

We texted and messaged our friends. Had our parents get family addresses.

I'm doing exactly what you are doing for the Save the dates! I will be asking my mom and my FMIL to ask around - they will probably go through facebook to get the emails and if not emails then the physical address'.

We didn't do an official STD... we just told everyone, and made sure older/out-of-town guests knew first... For the most part, we figure a winter, in-town wedding doesn't have too many complications... It's not summer, or a long weekend, or need for travel plans... So we are just doing invites a little earlier (4-5 months out)

We asked people directly and also asked our parents for some addresses.

My friend sent a message to everyone on Facebook asking for their addresses. What I didn’t like though is that everyone can see your response because it was one big Facebook message. My fiancé and I just split it up and passed on some to our parents as well ( their siblings).

Its a matter of asking parents to helping to see if any family members can let them know to get to you. Another thing they know best is guiding us by saying who does and doesn't use emails.

On your part though, social media such as Whatsapp and texting can help to send directly.

I just went through Facebook and messaged everyone on my side. Some people I didn’t have but other family members did have them so I got it that way!
