Save the date card - registries info

Nadine, on September 5, 2017 at 17:50 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5
A friend thinks it may be tacky. But was thinking of sending my registry annoucement cards out with the save the date card to save on weight (postage cost) for the formal wedding invitations. Our website info will be on the save the date cards, and the site also has the registry info. I'm thinking more for the people who may not be on a computer or smart phone. Do you think it be tacky or wait and send the registry announcement cards with the formal wedding invitations. I think she's concerned because the primary registry is for a honeymoon fund, but did a store registry as a backup for those who don't want to donate to honeymoon fund.

I would leave them out. I think it's tacky, but thats just my opinion. Definitely put it on your wedding website and if those who aren't computer savvy want to purchase something for you and don't know where you're registered they can contact you by phone to ask those questions.

Thank you, all good points, that I didn't think of. I'll leave them out and put them with the formal invitations.

If the registry is on the website, I wouldn't include in the save the dates. I didn't share my registry info until we had my bridal shower. You could also include some kind of line like "For inquiries, please contact ___" and include contact info.

Generally, though, I think people aren't expecting that much info on save the dates.

I personally would save the registry info for the formal wedding invitation. Some people who receive save the dates may not be able to make it and may respond to you before you send your invitations. If you go the route of providing it right off the bat they may feel that you are basically just saying "I don't really care if you can make it but buy me something". If they can't make it but would still like to get you something, they will find a way to see your registry.

I personally don't think it's a good idea. Include your website and they are able to find it there, but my thinking Is, the save the dates are for people to check there calendars and know that they will receive an invite. Close family and friends will know already where you are registered. Also not everyone you send save the dates to, may attend or able to buy a gift. Then again so many things have changed and what wasn't acceptable 20 years ago is completely acceptable now.
