rsvp Deadline

Ashleigh, on April 10, 2018 at 09:06 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 24
Hello! We got our invitations printed super early to get things crossed off of our list. I made the RSVP Deadline June 1 and our wedding is on August 25. Unfortunately getting addresses together has taken us forever. We will probably be sending them out on April 23. Is the deadline long enough or do I need to edit and reprint the RSVP cards? It'll only give guests about a month to reply. Oof.

Update: After some small setbacks with printing.....I mailed them out on Monday April 23 and the next day I received a lot of messages that people had received them! It's nice to hear that people are excited for our wedding. 🔊

We didn't do RSVP's, it's a relatively small wedding so we informed our friends and family by word of mouth.

I think that is enough time especially if you already sent out save the dates.

I was super annoyed by it but then had a bunch of people who we thought were going to be Yes say no. I actually know the person she is possibly bringing. Just last week they were not together as a couple.. but they're back on. I don't even know what to say about it lol. I'm just hoping she doesn't bother.

    So annoying!!

I would just tell her that your sorry but due to venue size/budget restrictions etc that you can't give her a plus one. I hate that!

We sent ours out end of January and our RSVP date was 2 days ago. I have about the same amount of couples that we are waiting to get back to us too. It's so annoying. And then I received one today that I knew was coming late who decided to add a plus one without even asking. I don't even know what to say to her about this.

This is what's happening to us. We have 8 couples that haven't RSVP'd yet and the deadline is next Friday. We sent them out end of February.

If you give too much time, it takes forever to receive them back. Had I would have known I would have given them 1 month.

We've been messaging people here and there. My mom has been contacting family members and my FH has been contacting his friends, as they've been the worst at getting back. We will either message them through facebook, call, or send a text.

A lot of the people who haven't responded said they had the card and then forgot where they put it which then lead them to forget about RSVPing at all! lol

We're only giving our guests 28 days to RSVP so you have enough time!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply. We double checked and finished off our address list this evening and we are now sending them out to the printer tomorrow afternoon! Woo! I feel relieved but that was the 'scare' I needed to complete them 🙄

It'll be good time frame for you and your guest. Usually at work you need 1 to 2 months to book off so it'll be good.

I fear this is going to happen to us too, did you send a reminder out or reach out to them individually? What does one do just leave it be? Lol

    You should be fine.

When we mailed out our invites, most guests got them within 2 days! So definitely should be fine.

I think the timing will be just fine. We sent ours our really early and gave a super early RSVP in case we had those stragglers who sent them in late. Our deadline was yesterday and we are still waiting for multiple people to respond... and they have had the invites since the end of January lol

I think you'll be just fine, I always RSVP right away when I get one. I think if someone doesn't RSVP in a month they aren't any more likely in a month and a half. They'll need a reminder and this way it will give you plenty of time for follow up if needed.

    Don't waste your money reprinting!

I think it's good to give them a shorter time to reply because this way they won't be like "I will do it next month" and then forget. Plus it gives you time to check in on the people who didn't rsvp plenty of time before the wedding

I think it’s fine! It’s nice to have a bit of time after the deadline to chase down people who didn’t bother to RSVP (because there will be quite a few).

A month is what we gave our guests. On that date we had only received 50% of RSVP back so it's really good you have more time between deadline and wedding date to chase down guests and get their RSVP, because must venues demand your final number 2 weeks before your wedding date. Happy Planing Smiley smile

I’m getting married August 18th and asked guests to rsvp by August 1st. I think a months notice is still ok though I really don’t think you should reprint seems like a lot of hassle I would try to get them out ASAP even if you don’t have all addresses you can start mailing the ones you do.

I think it should still be fine! A month is still plenty of time to check your calendars or book the day off work if needed!

You might have a few people who need a little more time but they will likely reach out to you directly, the majority I think a month is a good amount of time!
