Ring surprise or nah i picked it out?

I picked my bridal set out with my fiancé!

He had an idea what I liked (rose gold, no big protruding diamond, and not too expensive). I don't want or need to know what it cost but he picked it out by himself and I love it!!!! And he got the wedding band same day (not a set but it matches beautifully)

I designed mine myself because I work in jewellery. He was too afraid he was going to mess it up, which is fair because what he had in mind wasn't my style at all! I am happy that we went the route we did, and my colleagues kept the ring hidden from me when it was finished so I couldn't see it until he proposed. I knew what it was going to look like, but it far exceeded my expectations, so I was still surprised!

It's always nice to see your vision come out better in real life. That is how I feel about my bouquet, it turned out way better than the pictures and turned out better than I visioned it.

It gave me the teary moment of yes that is my bouquet.

We designed our ring custom together with elements that both liked so it wasn't a surprise but I'm surprised how beautiful it turned out every time I look at it!

The thought is there, but sometimes the ring they choose is more their style than yours.

I've lost my engagement ring so many times now that if this ring would have cost a pretty penny I would never wear it. I get anxiety when I lose it or forgot where I put it. lol

He knew your taste and went for your favorite, it's just a reminder that you made a good choice and he's the one.

We went shopping together and I told him which 3 were my favorite. I also gave him a budget I'd feel comfortable wearing everyday. But I gave him free reign to pick whatever he wanted! He picked a ring that fits in very well with my top 3 but is nicer and was originally twice the budget but on clearance for 50% off!

My bestie was mad she didn't pick it out, but her taste and mine are two different price tags. she would have made him take out a loan and give away a kidney, as I would have been happy with a pandora ring.

He had help picking mine out as some he told me were ugly and thought I was kidding, so we both agreed on this one.

Most of my jewelry is sterling silver, so my ring had to be sterling as well. My stones are white sapphire, and three stones, I look at it as my parents are both blue Sapphire and born in September and we are getting married in September, so finding a ring that had white sapphire has more of a meaning, so one stone for each parent and my wedding day. I am also clumsy and hard on my jewelry, so I needed to find something durable, not expensive and still me.

I would have gone with the ring surprise though I know my husband wouldn't have been able to afford the price for it. The one he had for years and held on to it fit me as I moved in with him. I considered that to be the engagement ring to make matters easier. I do like the look of it too.

I picked mine out but part of it was a surprise. I was on Etsy as we'd discussed getting married, and I liked the idea of both of us getting rings that matched. We agreed on a style from Celtic Eternity (US based seller), and I said he could surprise me with which gemstones were used (there are 8 small gems that look like they're braided into the silver design). He ended up going with having each other's birthstones, so I have his, and he has mine (traditionally it would be the wearer having their own birthstone, but he reversed it). I like it, and I knew that we could get something hypoallergenic as some metals have given me rashes before (especially with watches). I didn't want a big diamond or anything that would get damaged as I'm quite clumsy and wanted something I wouldn't have to worry about, so this fits. I can still wear gloves over it, and silver and amethyst are quite durable, while looking classy. The best of both worlds in my opinion.

The man picked it out with the help of my Bestie. She told him that's better than her first one 🤣 That ring is so her!

We went out on Valentine's day of 2021 and checked out well over 100 rings. I ended up sending him my top 3. He chose my favourite one, it was pretty obvious it was my favoruite.

So! The idea of my now husband picking out my ring was really beautiful to me and definitely wanted that to be the case and he did pick out one and give it to me however months later I found myself not really wearing it much LOL - I guess I did not really like it, I like it but to wear everyday, it was not my style so! I ended up ordering an inexpensive one on Etsy that I have paired with my wedding band and I love it - it is so so simple and not at all expensive but it fits me so much and I feel comfy wearing it so it's the winner! Truth is, it is so like me to pick out something myself and also have it not be very expensive (I hear you with expensive jewelry, the thought of losing just gives me so much anxiety), I like what I like and hubby is more than okay with it

I had given my now husband 4 different options of rings since he had asked me what I liked. And he knows me so well he picked the one I reallllly wanted!
