Reception dress

Emma, on August 6, 2018 at 10:30 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 7
Anyone getting a second dress to change into during the reception? I wasn’t planning on it, but then I saw this dress on clearance and it got me thinking.

I’m having a Christmas/ New Years wedding and silver and dark purple are our colours. Changing from my wedding dress into this for the part might be fun.

I'll have two dresses on hand, but I might stay in my wedding dress because it's expensive and I want to wear it! At one wedding, I was going to change out of my 4 inch wedge heels into flats but never did!

I would suggest wearing your wedding dress for the first dance/speeches, etc... then before the party starts, do a "costume change".

I don't mind when people change dresses, but I find it a waste when they change out of the expensive dress so quickly.

Having an evening dress for a holiday wedding for the party portion makes total sense!

Go for it!!! What's nice is that if you do want to change u have the option!!
I debated it for a while, since my fiance and I have mixed backgrounds I considered wearing my white dress for the church wedding and then changing into a Sari for the reception! I ended up using my full dress budget on my wedding dress though and I want to wear it all night! I want to bring a backup dress JUST IN CASE but i might end up sewing a fun cocktail dress myself bring my seamstress/costume making hobby into it!

I didn’t but my dress was super hard to dance in! I’m not much of a dancer so I made do, but if you’re going to be on the dance floor all night, i would definitely recommend a second dress! Especially if your dress has a train (even with a bustle!) lots of layers, as these make it harder and hotter to dance!

If you’d like to then go for it, a lot of people do plan for a second dress. I just got married and was really determined to stay in my dress all night, (hottest day of July) and i actually had no problems at all! That was what I wanted though, make the most of your day Smiley smile
