Reception before ceremony!?

Hey, hoping for some help and thoughts. I would like to have the ceremony as the sun is setting and for me that is about 8:50-9pm. How does this wedding day time line sound?

4pm arrival with signature cocktails


4:15 entrance and welcome speech (cocktail outfits)


Snack stations and lawn games open


6pm dinner and wine/beer open, 2 speeches


7pm hair, makeup and ceremony set up


7:30 people take the seats/wedding party photos


8pm ceremony


8:20 photos and fully open bar


9pm reentrance, cake cutting, speeches


930 first dances

10pm exit speach and dance floor opens

    I think this is an AWESOME idea! What a great spin on it all! The hair/makeup threw me, but once you mentioned it was just a touch-up, it all made sense. Smiley smile Go for it, it sounds great!

    Yes just touch up, a slight switch from day to night looks for both hair and make up.

    Is the 7:00 hair and makeup just a touch up? If it's the full hair and makeup, it will take longer than 30 minutes.

    Other than that, looks great! My friend went to a wedding similar to this; it was new years and they wanted their vows at midnight to ring in the new year. It was definitely a memorable wedding because it was so different!
