Hi lovely people!

I just had a florist provide me a quote for $4000 - apparently this is her minimum booking fee? I legitimately almost passed away. My wedding is in a small town in SW ON. Max 50 people, wedding party will consist of 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen. I'm only going to have 6 tables at my wedding; I'm envisioning a pretty minimalist look, lots of greenery. I was hoping $2000 would cover flowers/decor, design, set-up, etc. for a relatively small wedding. Am I just really ignorant or is this a lot of money for what I'm asking?

I'd for sure consider artificial flowers/greenery! The practical side of me would prefer that because it's hard to stomach spending so much money on things that will die.

Oh definitely! I think I looked at more then 5 different florists before we chose our current one. We did go with artificial flowers instead of real ones. It would of been double the price if we had decided on real flowers! Something to think about as well Smiley smile

That seems like alot! I paid just under 1000 for all of my flowers.

We are having about 65-70 people at our wedding.

2 bouquets and 1 throw away bouquet, 4 boutonnieres, 5 corages and 10 centerpieces

I was definitely projecting way more than that when we went in, I was sold when they priced out what we wanted and said it would only be around $300! Definitely call around and get lots of quotes! There’s lots of florals you can get it bulk too (baby’s breath is one we considered which very popular and can be bought it large bunches for a pretty reasonable price and a little goes a long way!)

    Wow, $300! That's incredible!

I'm glad I'm not being unrealistic in my hopes! I'm not a huuuge flower person, I'd just like some pops of green and flowers here and there.

I think that’s a bit much in my opinion! Depending on what kind of arrangements you’re looking for however I could see $2000-$3000 being reasonable if you’re doing bouquets, boutonnières, centrepieces, peices for parents and grandparents, and ceremony arrangements however if you’re keeping it small and not doing all that definitely think that’s bit of a high quote! We’re keeping ours simple and just doing bouquets and boutonnières for the bridal party - nothing for parents as mine already made it clear they don’t want to wear anything 😂, and don’t need centrepieces or anything for our ceremony so we’re looking around the $300 mark for ours. I would definitely shop around and reach out to a few places for quotes and get a feel for their style and pick what suits you and your FH best! 😊

Not at all - it was from the Little Shed! I realize flowers are expensive but dang, lol. Yeah for sure, if I was having a large wedding it'd be a different story. I feel mine is pretty small and I don't think I can stomach that amount! I guess I just have no idea what is reasonable or realistic.

I'm pretty gutted because her work is so my ~vibe~.

If you don’t mind me asking, was this From the Potting Shed?

But I’d say 4000 is a bit high. I’m paying around 6500 but I have a 200 people head count lol
