Postpone?

Hi Everyone! I’ve been trying to remain calm and hold out, but I’m getting worried. My wedding date is June 13. Should we postpone?

I'd talk to your vendors first, our wedding is on May 30th, and our important vendors told us just to wait because as of now they are still willing to host/work for us on our date. If we still have a ban of 50 people max. we are just going to cut down our guest list to 40 + vendors to make just under 50 and continue. It sucks to cut the list but at least we can stil have our date. Plus our venues are outside/in a tent so there is airflow too. - Silver lining is you can also save money with less guests.

My date is also June 13! We are going to wait a little bit and if the groups are still limited to 50 then we are just going to tell a few of our guests that would have had to travel not to come. Feels absolutely terrible but it’s better than completely rescheduling.

I would hold off on cancelling for now!! You never know what can happen and it would suck to cancel now and things be fine by then! Our date is June 6 and for now we’re trying to stay positive and move forward with planning. I feel your stress and concern and I’m praying this all ends soon.

This situation is not the greatest though some venues are taking extra care right now. Call your venue to inquire about your concern and push the date forward if that is the case to be on the safe side. If the situation stands they have no cancellations as yet and may inform you, then they would be breaching their contract and have to refund you that time. Its always good to feel secure about this information ahead of time. Stay optimistic and confident with your date and things clear up sooner than later.

Assuming you're getting married locally, there are quite a few factors that can help with your decision. How many guests do you have? A smaller party can still be manageable even if this is not completely blown over by that time. Do you have guests flying in? If not, then you don't have too many travel restrictions.

I have friends getting married around your date. One has decided to postpone but three are waiting to see how things will play out in mid-April.

I would hate for you to cancel or postpone now, only to find out that everything turned out just fine by June... take it as it comes and stay well.

I am set to get married June 20. I am planning to hold off until mid May to make a decision. Such a tough position to be in for sure!

Thanks for the advice! I was thinking of waiting a couple of weeks too. I think it’s just the uncertainty of not knowing what’s going to happen or change and what availability there would be if we were to postpone. And yes, there are all the other factors too of making sure everyone stays safe.

Hi Deborah! I can completely understand why you’re uneasy. I feel for you girl. At this point, I personally would hold off and see what the next two weeks have in store for the world... aside from the virus itself, what is making you think you should postpone the big day? I’ve heard a few people say that they think their guests will be strapped (financially) due to the economic state of the world.
