Our venue can do buffet, family style or plated. I do no like buffet at a wedding at all. i find it tacky.

common in Windsor is doing family style. so they bring platters of food to the tables and you take what you want. and they remove the platters or will bring more. its fantastic. you can eat some things or not. eat more of other things. but you aren't getting out of your seat.

We chose a catered buffet mostly to keep within our budget.. im pretty picky so if i had an unlimited budget it would definitely be plated 😝

Our venue determined what kind of meal we were going to have (plated). Even if that wasn't the case, I like the formality of a plated meal more than a buffet.

We chose a catered buffet service. We wanted something a little more casual and we also know that not everyone eats the same amount so a buffet made sense.

We couldn't do plated dinner at our venue, so it was either family style or buffet. So we chose buffet.

The deciding factor was the number of options available with the buffet vs. family style.

I don't like Buffets.. my dad said a comment once that made me dislike buffets

"Don't you ever think about how the food at the buffets, is the bits that other guests decided they didn't want as much as the piece they took".

My fiancé and I knew from the get-go that our guest list will be small, and wanted to splurge on food as it is important to us; thus, we decided to go with a four-course plated dinner for our wedding.

Our wedding is so small, we opted for a restaurant venue. They only do plated dinners, so the decision was kind of made for us. But, honestly, if I was doing a larger venue, with more attendees, I probably would have done buffet, or family style to save on the cost. Smiley smile

We are having a sit down dinner, but in an unusual way. We are having a restaurant reception, but in a seperate hall. Servers are going to each table and taking orders. I’m happy that we dont have to settle for a plain meal. Guests will have 4/5 choices to choose from on the spot Smiley smile

We chose buffet. It was cheaper, required fewer staff, and actually had more variety than the plated and family style. It's also easier for guests who want seconds to just head up to the table again.

Plated that was part of the service given at the venue.

We’re doing a buffet. It was much cheaper and includes desserts that the plated didn’t. So we’re having our cake as the late night snack. Our buffet table is actually set up next to the bar outside our room so it’s nicely out of the way.

Plated will be more formal but a lot less food in the end and can be more expensive. Buffet you get a lot more variety, more food, and less food waste cause people only take what they want but it is a less formal look.

We went with buffet but for special dietary needs (vegetarian, allergies, gluten/dairy free, etc) they will actually make a special plated meal for those people. And the head table will also get plated. (Which is all included in the cheaper buffet price).

We chose to do family style because it’s the variety of a buffet but with the formality of a plated dinner (plus plated would’ve been an extra $5 per person)!

I chose buffet because it offered my guests more choices and flexibility in what they get to eat and how much. I also don't have to worry about chasing down my guests for their meal selections either!

I chose to do plated dinner because I wanted the formality of getting served at the table.
