Here's one -
I started the search for an officiant and reached out to a few people. I've felt obligated in a way to be upfront with all my vendors so far about this being a same sex wedding, I think I've done it for my own comfort. I don't want someone's surprise or withdraw to offend me so I thought I would just throw it out there right away.
So an officiant contacted me saying there was availability on my date and I responded with the package we wanted and there being 2 bride's since all the text read "husband and wife"... the response email said they have no available officiant to marry us due to lack of credentials and referred me to someone else. Now I appreciate the referral however I don't appreciate being lied to. Same sex marriage is legal. you do not need different "credentials" to perform a ceremony to 2 brides or 2 grooms. Also as a business, you never really should be lying to anyone, just be upfront, or quite honestly I would have swallowed a complete lack of response better than the one I did get. I've been back and forth about leaving a review but I don't know if I'm being too sensitive.
Thoughts?
