We're doing both too! We managed to get an off-season package that pulls out all the stops while still being very affordable.

I would say late night snack to ensure guests are not getting too intoxicated and they may not have eaten enough at dinner etc.

Both because food is lovely and there won't be a huge sit down meal

We are doing appetizers. We were going to do a late night snack (pizza) but decided we wanted to do a cocktail hour instead.
