Paperless Post or Regular email Save the Dates

Cindy, on December 9, 2018 at 09:50 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 18
Did you use Paperless Post? Or another evite program? Or I was thinking just creating one and saving it as a png or jpeg and emailing as an attachment. Pros and Cons to these methods? This is only for a Save the Date, I will use Snail Mail and paper invites for the actual invitations

I'm going to see what I come up with this weekend! I'll see if I have some graphic design skills. But I'm glad to hear a jpeg would work

I literally sent a JPG of our Save the Date through text, Facebook Messenger, and e-mail. Haha. Literally cared not one bit about etiquette/fanciness Smiley laugh

I used paperless post. Loved it. You could see who received it and opened it. There was an envelope that opened to reveal the card which was cute.

You can get free ones, you just have to play with the options a bit.

I also liked how there were templates to choose from as I am not creative.

We did a regular email for ours. That way we could include links to the hotel, the nearest airports, shuttle services etc that people might need to start their planning.

I'm doing regular mail and hand delivering the ones that I can. Lots of the older family members aren't good with technology so we wanted to keep it easy for themSmiley smile RSVP will be online , buy eiyb the option if mailing in if that's what they choose to do!

Mine's a pdf. I have a girlfriend who is a graphic designer and she helped me. You can probably still use a designing site like VistaPrint or something.

I may do this route. But first I'll have to design my own save the date and I guess save it as a jpeg or pdf. Is this what you did?

I tried paperless post and it was cute how the invitation moves out of the envelope but I feel like a free designed pdf or jpeg would work just as well. Maybe not as cute or fancy though.

I emailed all of my save the dates. I will also be emailing my invites. I did it through my personal email because there was no risk of it filtering into anyone's junk mail because of the bulk email. It takes a little more time, but it's also more personal. Plus, it takes WAY less time than a paper mailing anyway, so no time lost, as far as I'm concerned!

A friend of mine used paperless post for her wedding invites. they were beautiful. and awesome for her.

I like what someone said about replying by email with their address. great way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
we didn't do save the dates. I sent a text or fb message to the people that live far away and we want to give them enough notice.

I’m too much of a sucker for things with sentimental value, I just had to get printed save the dates! we even ordered and mailed out invitations for our engagement party this past summer. We’re also having a 2 year engagement, so we will be sending out our save the dates a year before the wedding, and I would worry that with that much time, some people may either lose track of the paperless post email or simply forget all together!

I used wedding wires online invitation feature and then copied it to a word document, and then saved it as a pdf! lol a bit of work but the wording wasn't right... Here on WW it won't let you change how it reads the date and on mine it would have said Saturday 5 October 2018.... 5 October... not the 5th of October or October 5th??? lol in the end it wasn't too difficult to do and it saved on money. Just got to get peoples emails now and send it in the new year!

I did magnet save the dates. Just got them so I will be handing some of them out at family Christmas parties to save on postage! That way I only have to send a few in the mail!

We sent our save the dates via snail mail for various reasons. One of them being that I wanted people to have a physical copy of it. I know I’m super forgetful, so I figured some people would like to have a physical reminder of our upcoming wedding.

I did PaperlessPost and it was gorgeous. It cost me like $9 to get enough tokens to send them out but it lets me see who has opened it and it also gives people the option to enter their mailing addresses which not everyone did but it was helpful for the people that did!

We're not doing either, our engagement is on the shorter side so we're just sending out the invitations a bit earlier than normal. But we are doing emailed RSVPs.

Actually one of my bridesmaids' friends got engaged and they sent out an email save the date and I think it's great!!! The best part of it is they asked people to email back with their addresses to send the official invites to at a later date so it's a great way to collect those details too!!
