Opinions!

Hey everyone! I have a question for you ladies and gents. We are trying to narrow down what colour decor we would like for our head table as we are meeting with our decorator in a few weeks to talk about what we would like to see done in our venue space. Our colours are ivory, blush, and golds and will be using a lot of greenery in our flowers. Our centrepieces will be tall with cream and blush colours with roses, hydrangeas and greenery placed in an organic way. This is our inspiration picture for our tables (minus the bows on the chairs)...

We have the gold chiavari chairs rented and will be using gold charger plates on every table. We have purchased blush coloured napkins that will be draped from the tables.

This is what our ceiling will look like (minus the fabric as the ceilings are low in our room and it would make the room feel very squished. We won't be using the hanging stick thing either thats in the middle)...

And this is what our backdrop will look like (ignore the sequin rose gold table cloths)...

BackdropOpinions! 3

We are using backlighting on the backdrop to make it stand out more as seen in the picture and instead of feathers (this was from a new years eve wedding she recently did) we will have two larger floral arrangements with a mixture of cream, blush and green flowers and greenery.

What colour would you do the head table? Should we stick with the ivory or would it be too much with the backdrop already being ivory? You can't see it but the backdrop actually has thin gold sparkly tassels hanging from it. Or do you think we should do a blush colour to help tie it all in together? My fiancé likes the rose gold sequin table cloths but I honestly think this would be too much for the room. This particular wedding had every single table in the sequin cloth. I think we will do the cocktail tables in the sequin as well as the cake and receiving table to add some sort of sparkle to the venue room.

What would you suggest?

It is just different enough to draw attention without being different decor.

Our reception room is on the darker more romantic side when it comes to lighting so we need uplighting to make it brighter.

We did our backdrop no lights and it made our head table of 2 look beautiful.

I agree with the reverse. I think this is likely what we will end up doing.

I like the idea of the head table being slightly different than the other tables. So, a different table cloth would be good. Not sure about the sequins one...I think sequins are nice as a table runner but personally I think it looks too much as a table cloth.

I think to make your table stand out, in a variety of ways, you should have the reverse decor of the rest of the tables. As they will have ivory table clothes and blush napkins, you should have a blush table cloth and ivory napkins with gold charger plates. You will keep the decor going but still make your table noticeable and different and special.

Sequins is nice but it catches on everything if it's not a good quality one and you can risk ruining your or the girls dresses.

You could go with a sheer overlay, that has some detail, over the ivory linen. It will give some impact without being flashy!

Sometimes I feel less is more , with decor.
