Mom as a maid of honour

Christina, on January 10, 2018 at 22:42 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12
Hello I'm just wondering if people have heard of having the brides mother as moh. My mother is like my best friend and I don't really get along with girls I have always wanted more girlfriends but I can't stand how most of them are. So thinking of asking my mom. Is it weird ?

So I thought of doing this as like you my mum is like my best friend but my husband brought up a good point: if your mum is standing up there with you, she doesn't really get to watch the ceremony in full. She doesn't get to focus on the whole picture like she would if she is sitting in front of you. Ultimately this is why I didn't end up asking her to be MOH. I think it is a very lovely and meaningful gesture but I wanted my mum to really be able to enjoy the wedding.

Not weird at all! MOH should be someone close to you and if that's your mom, that's great! My cousin's wife had her grandma as her matron of honour. It was the tradition in their family and she decided to continue it.

That would be so cute, and she would 100% be honoured. MOH is someone you know you have a strong connection with, your best friend, your person you tell everything to. So I think it's a perfect match!

Sorry, omg I miss read the question....
NO not weird, I'm in the same situation, i barely have anyone I'd even consider as my MOH.
Do it if it feels right, lots of my brides that come into our store use mom as the moh.
