A matching set would probably look best, though I love the way certain engagement rings look with a mismatched band given the metal is consistent.

I would go with the same metal and color (white gold), but I would have different styles. My engagement ring has a half micro pave, I would like my wedding ring to be a marquis and dot style. Here's a photo of the styles:

My engagement ring is a silicone ring in aqua, so it would be pretty hard to match it, and I think any other ring, even the thinnest, would make it too wide.
So I'm not planning to wear the both rings together. I'd like to get an actually metal ring, but I'll first need to find one that I don't react to.

This is not my exact ring, but similar idea, where my engagement ring has a specific shape, so there is a band to match it. My FH wants me to get the anniversary band for the other side as well so it balances.
