Mariaggi's hotel - what was your experience like?

Rosemarie, on November 10, 2016 at 13:34 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

So I won a $100 gift certificate to Mariaggi's Themed Suites and Spa Hotel, and I was just wondering if there are any brides out there who has had the pleasure of going to this special hotel in Winnipeg?

My cousin told me about her expeirence with booking the Egypt room for her getaway package and she said it was amazing and the infered sauna is awesome, etc.

So the fiancee and myself got to look at most of the rooms that we were interested, we were torn between Rome and Japan, and then we saw the China suite... To sum it up, during our tour.. All rooms were great! Egypt was impressive! But Rome and Japan (before we seen China) were the two that we really loved. I can't help but to ask to peek at the China room, and I was taken away by the decor "the Emperor's Suite." A little smaller than the egyptian one, but to be fair... I would rather try a different room instead of the same room that someone I know on a personal level has tried.

Until I learned that Chinese food was not on the menu as the hotel serves Italian food, I crawled back to the idea of going back to the Rome suite. The manager said we can order Chinese food from outside the hotel and bring it to the suite... But I would rather have the comfort and relax and not have to worry about how long the food will take and what time it would get to the hotel when the hotel has a set schedule for serving dinner -- which is good.

So we're stll thinking about whether or not we should stick to our top two choices or enjoy the one night of experience living it up as an emperor? Smiley laugh

I have never seen the Jakarta suite as a family was occupying it the night I came to get my gift certificate. I heard it is one of the largest hotel rooms in North America.

I do like the idea of having to order out some food to cut back on the luxury cost of $85 deal for a 4 course meal on italian food since it just doesn't suit the theme if I do decide to take on the Chinese Emperor Suite... I believe there should be certain themed foods to accomodate the experience of each room!

I might just go all out and have a secret elopement party in the Jakarta Themed Penthouse next month, sooo tempting. Mini secret christmas party with so much more to do in there. Saves me time and the headache of unwanted guests till the 2018 main event (one of those fun things for a just in case type of deal due to the lack of funding support from part of his family and the lack of emotional support from mine). Smiley winking

I need to have a social to be able to fund for the 2018 one. Because there's no way I can pull 20k out of thin air. If it dosen't happen, it doesn't happen. What matters is we'll be happy without going all out on extravagance.

Congratulations Rosemarie!Smiley smileI have never been to this hotel but it sounds to me by what you are had said in the discussion that they seem very accommodating and offer great service especially with rooms they provide. If you do not like the idea of having the food order out, I would go with the other options based on both you and your future husband preference. I wish you all the best!

Hi Rosemarie! That's amazing! Smiley heart Congrats on winning that gift card! Will you book that suite for your wedding night? Smiley smile I know what you mean... The China suite would be much better with Chinese food Smiley winking But Italian food is always good!! I just love it! I think the choice is really up to you! What's the most important about your room? Do you want everything to be themed? Which one has the best bath?
