Makeup help!!!!

Crystal, on December 4, 2017 at 08:01 Posted in Beauty 0 7
Hi ladies,
I need help!
A makeup artist is one of the last things on my list before my June wedding. Why do MUAs charge so much for a bride compared to bridesmaids? How much different can the makeup really be? All quotes I’ve gotten from MUAs has been $100+. I don’t wear a lot makeup to begin with. Wondering what other ‘O-natural’ brides have done!

I was told by my girlfriend to try Sephora and MAC as well! Thanks for the tip!

    Hey Crystal,

It is really a preference thing but quality makeup costs quite a lot to purchase and having a variety ready for each bride is quite an investment. I’m investing quite a lot in my HMUA because I have a specific look I’m going for and I like a full face of makeup with mink lashes. If you’re looking to find one below $100, try just booking an appointment at your nearest Sephora or MAC for $50, you can have the look you like for much less.

    Good luck :-)

My girl is actually not bad in price. She's only $80 including my trial so it's technically only $40 not times. And she is awesome! Loved her work. She only charges a tad more for bridal because she used the spray foundation finisher stuff (lol I don't wear much makeup either so totally understand)

They charge more because they can. Vendors do inflate the prices for weddings.

Check Facebook wedding groups in your area. People are often advertising their services. Check with a local beauty school--you might be able to find a student.

My mom had a Mary Kay sales rep do her make-up for my brothers wedding. Arbonne sales reps might do it as well.

For a wedding I was in, I just had a friend do my make-up who was more experienced than me.

A good artist should be able to give you the look you want, no matter what! It does take some looking sometimes, though and I know it's tough. I got lucky because I really liked the artist my friend used for her wedding and contacted her when I got engaged. She charged me more than the bridesmaids because it covered my trial and my wedding day makeup. I did airbrush makeup and it looked like I had nothing on at all but my skin looked flawless!

I found someone that was reasonably priced and was ok with doing a natural look. It took a lot of searching though.
