Lunch Time Wedding?

Tori, on September 26, 2018 at 20:25 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7

I want to do a lunch at my wedding because it will save us a whole lot of money. However, I am not sure how to create a timeline for that. My main concern is the photos. This would mean the time for photos would be right around 12:00 - 1:00 in June. My venue hasn't done a lunch wedding before either, but they said it will be fine. Any advice is welcome!

If you’re wanting later photos, you could always serve lunch and take pictures after. 12/1 isn’t a bad time for photos, but it’s also a good time to serve lunch. Nothing says you have to have pictures in between ceremony and reception. You can go right from ceremony to reception and then pictures. That was my plan if we had decided on a brunch reception.

I just went to an afternoon/daytime garden party style wedding about a month ago. was supposed to be chilly. ended up being like 30-some degrees. and humid. and it worked out.

she did a noon outdoor ceremony (we were under trees). and it was a short ceremony. so while hot. was manageable. she did family photos right after. while we did cocktail hour outside (but we were under a canopy/covered patio). and she served lunch at 2pm. and wedding done by 5pm.

it all depends on venue. if there isn't a lot of trees/shade. will be hot. just make sure the venue has lots of water. my friend had them do an infused water. which was so refreshing.

Remember that the sun will be high in the sky at noon to 1, and on a clear bright day, that makes for harsh lighting for photos. You might be better off getting your photos earlier (before the ceremony).

If you finish picturesat 1pm, have lunch served that time.

We have lunch served around that and 3pm when Indian weddings are done. Families and friends will wait to get their picture before eating.

I would assume that if you are having a lunch wedding then your vows would be when? At roughly 11? If so I mean you could always do the first look photo's in the morning if you aren't interested in the 12-1 time? What time do you have the wedding venue for? Best advice for creating this timeline is to act as if it was a supper timeline and just change the hours after that. So instead of having supper at say 6 like mine move everything in your timeline by 7 hours? Vows at 11 instead of 5, lunch at 11:30 instead of 5:30, pictures at 12/12:30 instead of 6/6:30, etc. Hope this helps!
