Low budget

Hey there, this is my first wedding and we are just wanting it to be more about family and fun, don't really want to spend to much, wanting under 100 guests and we are probably thinking Quesnel or Grand Prairie

I would suggest an off season as it is cheaper, also sometimes venues give it to you cheaper if its a Friday or Sunday compared to a Saturday. You could do a late ceremony and then just do a late buffet (simple sandwhiches) this would help as well to keep costs down. If you are able to find a venue that is a legion even, they sell all the alcohol and you wouldn't have to worry about that even. Some offer to up it a dollar to make money off of it still and there's usually ladies that could do the late night lunch even! They are very reasonable in price too

Friday weddings are usually a big percentage cheaper.

If you’re not set about the time of the year, a winter wedding can be significantly cheaper than a summer wedding. If you don’t have an open bar that will also impact the price, along with cutting the decor and extras out.
I know it sounds like a lot will be left out, but these are potentially big money-savers.

I found by doing a Sunday luncheon in September, many potential venues were willing to lower their minimum spends for us as it wasn't "peak" time. And a daytime event will lower the amount of alcohol consumed. We're decorating ourselves (with a lot of help from my mom and aunt) and keeping the guest list small. We're also holding the ceremony and reception in the same location, so only one venue fee.

Food and alcohol are the biggest expense. So, keeping down the guest list will help to keep down the cost. You can also keep down the cost of food by having an earlier ceremony and lunch reception or a later ceremony (around 7pm) and appetizers or desserts.

Some people say a weeknight is cheaper than a weekend. I didn't find that as most venues I looked at had a set price for weddings.
