Junior bridesmaid matching bridal party?!?!

Jennifer, on March 23, 2018 at 15:36 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 7

Hey!
so I am in the early stages of planning. and I found a bridesmaid dress color I LOVE!!! (mist at david's bridal). but they don't make any junior bridesmaid dresses in that color. (our niece will be 12 at the time of our wedding). I really wanted her to match the other girls.
a friend suggested putting her in navy (which is what i'm thinking for the guys suits). with a sash with the mist color. she will be walking down the aisle with her little brother (he will be 4). so the navy together could be cute.
thoughts? ideas? anyone know how I can get this mist material?? Smiley smile

I like the navy with a sash idea, very cute. I think if she's a junior bridesmaid, it's okay to look different so people know that. You can also have a dress that's more suited to her specifically, being a very different silhouette/body type than the older women.

Usually I see jr. bridesmaids in different dresses than the bridesmaids. Totally normal.

I called davids bridal. And she said sometimes they have davids bridal line junior that is a similar color to the vera wang mist.
Shes tall enough for a size 0. But a skinny minny.
We shall see. Its just good to hear different thoughts! 😊

Navy with a mist sash sounds like a good compromise. What size does the 12 year old wear, is there any way she could fit into a small regular bridesmaid dress, a short dress maybe that could be altered to her proportions?

I think it'll be a great idea. She'll still be in your colour scheme that you want. If one of your bridesmaid is short and need her dress shorten you can ask your seamstress to make the extra into your junior bridesmaid sash. You can also look around wedding store in your area if they have it. Or go to fabric land and look for you're color and you can just bring it to a seamstress and tell them you want a sash.

She can be in a different colour; I think the sash would help tie it in together.

Is it possible for her to buy a regular dress and just have it altered? Maybe talk to a seamstress before buying it though as sometimes dresses can only be taken down a couple sizes.

I think that would look nice! I wanted my jr bridesmaid to match so we found dresses online from jjshouse since they make jr as well. I would ask David’s if they know where you can find this material or maybe a seamstress?
