Hi ladies,
My fiancé and I are getting married on July 31st 2020 and I’ve been considering postponing our date until September. I know that we still have four months left but I’m getting a little worried. Just wanted to know if anything else is getting married around that time and what you were doing ?

Im actually listening to my brother inlaw who is a doctor working at Orangeville hospital where 14 of his fellow nurses and two doctors have recently contracted the virus. He is very well informed on infectious diseases as well as myself who has MS and speaks to my specialist at MS clinic in Toronto regularly. Until a vaccine is found the virus will spread and yes maybe be stabilized at points but will still be there and thus cause limitations on gatherings and so on. We are both entitled to our opinions and yours is just that an opinion as is mine. My opinion is back up by many in the medical and scientific community and I am allow to express it if i choose! No one wants this to last long or to be restrictions but i guess only the future will tell! Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Instead of reading media blindly, try to educate yourself on disease processes. Specifically this one. And pneumonia’s. The PM also said this would be much better and it’s not. So???? Believe what you want. I’m sorry if you’re stressed about all this but this won’t be the case. Thanks.

Restrictions definitely will not be in place until a vaccine. Please don’t spread false information. That’s not really how that works....lol

We are July 25, in B.C. we have been planning for 2.5 years, and have decided to postpone. Things won’t be better by then, and the sooner you decide to change your date, the better chance at getting a date you want. We have to move it to 2021, and there were no Saturday’s available, so it’s on a Friday. Plus, people have lost jobs and aren’t in a financial position to be attending weddings. People are dying and are sick. I would feel terrible if someone got sick from attending our wedding.
    Good luck everyone!

We are supposed to get married October 3.
But we honestly may just push the date till next year. EVEN if the gathering ban is lifted and we could have 120+ ppl in a room together, I don't think we'd have time to finish planning if everything is closed until like July or later. I'd still want to have my bridal shower and bachelorette and I feel like we'd just run out of time. Don't really want to wait like 12-18 months. But may be "safer" we will see what they are saying in Ontario by the end of May and go from there.

I'm getting married on August 1st, 2020 . I've put a soft hold on a date next year with all of my vendors and have to make my decision on which date I'm going to have my wedding.

    Best of luck

Were getting married October 3, 2020 and tp be honest if its still not only will 2020 not be good but the restrictions will still be there all of 2021 until vaccine is made so the only safe date is in 2022. Im hoping I wont have to cancel but was think just to have Church and immediate family reception or none at all. This sucks!!!!

We we're getting married on September 5th and postponed to next year. Even if you we're aloud to gather at that point, people won't be ready. The virus will still be out there, it just won't be "peaking". I think you should postpone. Have your day the way you planned it, and not have covid related in any way to your wedding. Sorry 😢

We are planning for September but even getting nervous about that especially because most of our guests would need to travel. It's so hard to know when things will be safe to book again.

My fiance and I are getting married August 8th too. We also had the same idea to wait until June. We're thinking if we can't get married this August, we'll elope and have a reception on the same date next year. But if you have big plans for the wedding, want all of the family to be there, maybe look at spring next year (if you want nice weather) Fall weddings are beautiful, but this pandemic is hard to navigate right now. I'm sure we'll know more in the next couple months.

I agree. The difference between July 31 and September is not much time. It would be crushing to postpone a second time. We are August 8th and if we postpone it will be to next year. We will decide in June

I’m not getting married this year but we have decided that September is a perfect time to get married. You have perfect weather especially if it’s the beginning of September. It won’t be too hot or too cold. Fall will be on its way. But it depends on what kind of wedding you’re having - if you’re having it indoors I would say you honestly have less to worry about. My fiancé and I are getting married outside (unless it rains) so we thought September would be perfect since we won’t have to worry about mine or my bridesmaids makeup melting in the middle of summer. But it’s your wedding, either way I know it’ll be perfect

We are July 25 and also considering postponing to September (on a weekday if need be, as that is still more preferable for us than waiting another year). Our planner has advised us not to make a decision until mid-May so we are just waiting for now. Almost everything is planned and ready to go so we can afford to wait for a bit longer, but the stress is definitely getting to me at this point.

We are September and I just moved it to next year to avoid all of this. Sucks, but I don't like dealing with unpredictability of this nature. Good luck!

The date chosen you two kept can be waited until mid April to consider changing the date due to the circumstance occurring at the time. Your postponed date to September can be made if the thought of losing out on your original date may be affected. You have your guests in mind if they do have to make their flights arrangements to push forward if postponed. Do what seems best for you both since you have to consider the pros and cons of postposing.
