Invites : Should we check in ?

Jessica, on March 16, 2018 at 15:15 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 14
We just found out that one of our family members hasn't received their invite yet . Although alot of other received them within 2 days . It's been about a month since we sent them should we check in with people prior to our RSVP by date to make sure they got them!? Or just wait and see if they rsvp or not !?

I agree with the others, if you've got some wiggle room after your RSVP date, wait about a week after... so if the did receive it, you're not chasing them down before the date. If you need to know, then do what you gotta do!

Reading this though is making me realize I wasn't considering putting return addresses on (yet)... now I will make sure I do that for sure!!!

Wait until a day or two after your RSVP date to ensure they got them and their response. They could just be taking their time with their responses.

Ensure the one family got the invite and the address os correct. O had the same issue and corrected it right away to make sure the invite was sent out to the proper address.

We are going to give everyone a 2 week time frame after the rsvp date before we follow up Usually if people know you sent invites and they expect one they will tell you if they haven't received it

When was your RSVP date for your guests? I say if you don't hear from them 2 weeks prior to your RSVP date that you contact them.

We have been checking in with people since we sent them and we are glad that we did! We found out that my fiancé's best friends parents didn't receive theirs and that we forgot to put a return address on the outer envelope in case they were sent back! Turns out my FH put the wrong address on their envelope though lol They were pretty hurt that they hadn't received theirs yet.

I would wait! Unless you see them in person of course and ask if they are planning on coming and you can then say you had problems with an invitation. But I wouldn't necessarily call everyone and check. That is a lot of work and time out of other things you can be doing. I'd be worried if you got back a lot of "return to sender". But other than that, I would wait until a bit closer 😊

I would just asked casually if they got their invite...."Aunt Betty, I'm just checking in to make sure you received our wedding invitations. It's come to my attention that some guests haven't received them and I want to make sure that it hasn't happened to you"

That way your guests won't be upset or think your bothering them.

If you're going to keep wondering if everyone got their invitations, I would double check with them. No point in adding unnecessary stress! It would also serve as a reminder to people to RSVP.

I would check so I'll have a peace mind that they got it.

How far in advance is your RSVP date to your wedding?

If the RSVP date is pretty far out from the wedding, I would wait to follow up until then if you haven't received someone's. If it's close to the wedding, you could touch base with people in advance.

However, I'm sure it was just that one!

Oh no! Hopefully it was just that one invite!

Unless you start hearing from a lot of people that they never got theirs, I think you can wait until after the RSVP by date to follow up!

I would check in the day after the rsvp date and ask if able to come and if they say anything. This way you give time just incase the invite does show up!
