Invitations vs e-vite

I am all about invitations but at the same time it can be pricey. I think paper invitations set the mood of your wedding where as electronic invites maybe a good idea save on cost. What do you ladies think? I would love to get some feedback. This pandemic though makes it hard to want to order...

My fiance and I personally are going with paper invitations. I think it's more personal that way and it's also a keepsake for ours guests

I can’t remember how many invites I got... because I didn’t get 1 invite per person. I got 1 invite per couple. I’m guessing I got around 50-75 invites, rsvp cards, and details/accommodations cards. Don’t forget postage is extra! You need to pay for postage / stamps to send the invites out. You also need to put a stamp on the rsvp envelopes so your guests can mail them back to you.

I know people who have used paperloss post for other things. I debated about using it for my save the dates but I'm currently sending them through what's app. For the formal invites I plan to send them digitally also. I think I'll print very few, if any, for those who don't use technology/email. My whole reasoning is cost effectiveness. I personally have a wedding invite on my dresser from three years ago but I do believe most people just throw them out

I will keep paperless post in mind. I still have to get my mind around it. but it makes so much sense and $400 is quite up there for invites to go into the garbage. To save 400.00 is a great idea. $400 got you how many invites etc?

We used Paperless Post for our electronic Save the Date, and printed invites through Vistaprint. With the postponement, we sent another electronic Change the Date and will send electronic invites this time around. I love beautiful stationary, so the printed invites were more for me than my guests, but in the era of COVID, I think electronic is better given the reliability, timeliness, unpredictability, etc. For us, I'll print another copy for photos, but since we were doing electronic RSVP on our website and our guests already have the address, there isn't really a reason to reprint and mail anything out.

E-vites are great for couples that are techy and able to create their own website as 2 of my cousins did it this way.

Other cousins and myself used paper invitations mailed out to my family and handed personally to the locals to family and friends personally. Its a touch that adds to be seeing them and making time to spend together.

Even before the muckiness of covid, we planned on using e-vites. Everyone we were planning to invite were already hooked on tech in some way, whether it be email or social media so it was much easier to just send a link while saving money. It also allowed us to make the invite in multiple languages for our family without additional costs.

So, before COVID I went all out with paper invites. I used a website called Zazzle. I got paper invites, RSVP card, details and accommodations card, fancy envelopes. The whole thing cost us $400. When Covid hit, I was lucky that Zazzle me. This time around I decided to go with electronic invites. I’m using an app called “Paperless Post”. It’s MUCH cheaper, environmentally friendly, and I get RSVPs right to my phone. No one keeps invitations... they all end up being thrown out and it’s a waste of money.
