Invitations vs e-vite

Marsha, on September 21, 2020 at 16:16 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 42

I am all about invitations but at the same time it can be pricey. I think paper invitations set the mood of your wedding where as electronic invites maybe a good idea save on cost.

What do you ladies think? I would love to get some feedback.

This pandemic though makes it hard to want to order invites

This is my plan, too! Especially as most of my invites will be going to the UK and postage is going to add up 😬

It all depends on the style. I would say budget $300-450

No, I'm using another website service. Wasn't a fan of the weddingwire layout and page options.

A suggestion, paper announcement or save the date postcards like Christmas cards. They only cost us $115 shipped to us plus stamps.
It then directs folks to the website and you can start RSVPs that way. Kind of a balance point.
Just doing paper invites is well over $600

We plan on using e-vites to be more ecofriendly. I know some people like to save invitations, which is kind of a bummer but I want to use less paper. And it is great to save some $$!

I'm doing paper invites from vistaprint. They have so many 50% off sales. I'll also get my stamps from Costco or I think the post office gives you a deal if you buy a bulk of stamps... Invites would not work for about half of my guest list. Besides I love getting mail. Real mail that isn't a bill or junk. I love paper invites for that. Makes me excited for the wedding.

We haven't sent them yet but we collected the emails of all our intended guests and put them into our wedding website, which will generate an invite that will go into their inbox. The invite will link them back to the site to RSVP, choose meal options, get details on the wedding, etc.

I plan on using my engagement shoot photos for a printed save the date. I have invested in a cricut machine to make my paper invitations. I enjoy the DIY aspect and they will be exactly the way I want them to look (me and my type A personality). I just think they will make a beautiful keepsake as I plan to make a shadow box after the wedding.

I am still a ways out from making my invites, but I think I will most likely either be using a template or designing my own. But we have a very rustic-themed wedding , so I will be making lace-look and kraft paper invitations. So plain graphics/text is all I will need to go with the simpler design.

As to the digital question, that's kind of a know your crowd thing. I know that wouldn't go over well with a lot of my family, especially the older and more sentimental ones

Initiations can be so crazy expensive!! I want to do paper because we have quite a few older people who aren't tech savvy but I am struggling to find reasonably priced options!

Good evening! I was wondering the same about invitations, but I find that sending invitations looks charming. On a whim I decided to go to Micheals and found 3 invitation boxes (30 invitations each) for $ 19.99. I advise you to go to the sale section. If that helps, I even bought ribbons and a seal with the invitations. The total did not exceed $160.

I think our plan if we do printed invites is that the RSVP would be done on our website. Since it’s free to make one. That way it’s only postage one way and the rsvp is straight to my inbox Smiley smile
