Hey everyone! Just wondering how far in advance do you send out the wedding invitations? Thanks!

All my friends and I were slightly different so I would do what you are most comfortable with. Some people like to be super organised and get them done 9-6 months beforehand but others like closer to the day like 3 months.

Either way, I would just allow yourself enough time for posting them out to your guests, and also hand writing the guest names (unless you've organised another option).

Also don't forgot that you'll need final numbers from your RSVPs to help with seating and menu planning, so maybe allow enough time for those as well.

We did an evite as it was so much easier and responses are pretty much instant. We sent them out in nov and asked for rsvp by may 1 as we had a back up list of guests lol

The general rule of thumb is 3 months prior BUT you should send them out at a suitable time for your wedding. For example, we're getting married next August, but due to the large amount of anticipated OOT guests, we plan to send them out no later than January (we will be sending our STD's out in September).

You can follow the guidelines or follow the timeframe you think is good. Everyone is different and also thinking about international mailing.

We did save the dates 9 months before and invitations 3 months before. We wanted to give our out of town guests as much time as possible to make arrangements to come. My friend didn’t do save the dates and sent out her invitations 5 months before.

We are sending them out as soon as they get in. Wedding is beginning of October so about 5 months out. But we also did not do save the dates.

Sites always suggest like 2 or 3 months
out from your wedding which makes me so nervous just thinking about. I say the more notice can’t hurt. A lot of our guests are from out of town and about two months out of engagement (we have 10 months between engagement and wedding) people were asking about wedding details so I was comfortable sending the invites out 6 months in advance. I think people were relieved to have the details.

We plan to send them 5-6 months before the wedding. With an RSVP deadline 2-3 months before the wedding. This give our guest lots of time to ensure they can attend and us lots of time to gather all the RSVPs. I'd suggest sending yours soon for September.

We didn’t do save the dates so we sent ours out early. We seen most of our family at Christmas and gave them to them then and then we sent the rest out in the new year so 8-6 months before the wedding. I’d say you’re good to send yours out now.
