Invitations

Larissa Lauzon, on March 16, 2018 at 12:20 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 14
Hello everyone! I was just wondering if I can get some opinions on what I've got for my invitations please? I'm unsure with my wording and completely open to suggestions!

Thank you so much in advance!!! ❤❤

* There are 2 because the ceremony is going to be very small (about 50) but we still want invitations to send to those who will be attending both. Reception is nearly 200 invited. *

Courtney's post is spot on and perfect! I'd go with what she said.

    I like this!

I would also consider adding in that the ceremony is outdoors. My friend did this and it was super helpful. Similar to the (please note: cash bar) you could do (please note: outdoor ceremony) under the address line.

If you're doing your ceremony in a different space than the reception, you'll need to include both the ceremony and reception address somewhere with your invites.

    "The honour of your presence

is requested at the marriage of
    Larissa Lauzon

    and

    Tyler White
    on
    Saturday, August thirty-first
    two thousand and eight
    at ___TIME____.

    Please join us at:

    VENUE ADDRESS

Potluck style reception to follow. Reception address included on DETAILS card

    (please note: cash bar)"

You could update the ceremony invite like the above?

Awe thank you, but that's okay! I like being in control of stuff like this anyway, so even if there was help I'd still be running it Smiley winking hahaha

I'm just so excited to see everything come together ❤

    1. Yes, I'm going to be writing the names myself Smiley smile and thank you for the suggestion, I like that Smiley smile

    2. We want to have an outdoor ceremony, we're thinking in his parents' back yard but we're not 100% yet and the reception is going to be in a hall Smiley smile

    3. You know what, I wanted to do the RSVP cards like postards. That makes so much more sense. I can stick my address on there, duh lol

    4. We're planning on doing that for anyone out of town who doesn't know their way around ^_^

Thank you so much, all of this is super helpful! ❤

This is exactly how you should do your invitations! Very clean, to the point, without omitting any detail.

I’m sorry to hear about your lack of help. I had to take the reigns too with my wedding planning because no one (including my FMIL) were about to help with finding venues or anything. It’s really rewarding doing it all yourself tho!

Alright, so taking a look based on the feedback you advise about who is hosting these would be my notes.

    1. Do not include the person's name on the invite. It will be really hard to print multiple versions of the invite then. Just write their name on the envelope Smiley smile

I would do the following wording for the ceremony invites:

    "The honour of your presence

is requested at the marriage of
    Larissa Lauzon

    and

    Tyler White
    on
    Saturday, August thirty-first
    two thousand and eight
    at ___TIME____.

    Potluck style reception to follow.

    VENUE

    VENUE ADDRESS

    (please note: cash bar)"

    2. Is your ceremony and reception at the same location?

    3. You don't need to include RSVP information on the invitation itself if you are including RSVP cards, the information would be listed on there.

    4. You can also include a details of the venue location on a separate details card with driving instructions?

Those are beautiful! I haven't decided on the cards yet, lol

I'm super picky (perfectionist, woot lol) so I wanted to tweak my wording with some help on here so I can get my invitation designs figured out! I thought this was a good way to do it before asking family or friends haha

Also thank you for the suggestion! ❤

Wording seems awkward. I would phrase it:

    Larissa Lauzon
    &
    Tyler White

Invite you to join us as we tie the knot on August 31, 2019 at time given (written form).

Reception followed after ceremony Potluck family style.

    Venue name
    Venue address

    Attire: optional

    RSVP info

This is a our card which i had ordered

No one has offered to help or do anything yet and we got engaged June 17, 2017. At this point we figure it's safer to assume it's all just us.

My question is around the opening line

"We're excited to announce, etc etc"

Are you hosting the wedding, are your families helping to host the wedding?
