How To Add Additional Guests

Emilie, on February 6, 2017 at 12:38 Posted in Tech support 0 13

Hi lovely community! Smiley heart

When creating your guest list, it's helpful to write down if your guests will be bringing a +1 and to see who is coming with whom to ensure a good communication with your guests.

Here's how to add an Additional Guest (or companion) in your Guest list: Smiley smile

When you create a new guest:

- Click Add guest

- Go to the tab Additional guests and select their information

Create a new additional guest

When your guest is already in your list:

- Click the Edit button on the guest you would like to add a +1 to

Edit button

- Click the Additional guests tab

You can choose to add a new guest if the guest is not already in your list

Add new additional guest

Or you can click on Existing contact to select an additional guest who is already in your list

Select existing guest as a companion

When assigning a companion or additional guest, it's important to take into consideration that all the e-mails for the additional guests will go directly to the first guest.

Do you have any question on this? Smiley smile

How many of your guests will be plus ones?

    Hi Shaunj,

I totally understand. You could add them as additional guests and that way all the communications would go directly to the "main" guest. Smiley smile

    Hi Emile,

There will be over 100 families (couples and couples with children/teens). Should I just add each person individually or add one person and the rest of the family as a +1? I'm afraid that will effect the RSVP function as it would be silly to send out invites to each individual attendee.

    Hi Emilie!

When my guest first log in it asks for their name but not after that. When they click on the survey it just goes straight to the questions. If I don't figure this out soon I'm going to have to just send out an email I guess.

    Thanks

    Kim

Hi Kelsey! Welcome to the community! I love your picture by the way! Smiley winking Was that taken in a photobooth?

There's not an actual field for people to fill in the name of their +1, but they can write it in the comments if they're RSVPing through your website: How To Manage your RSVP in 3 steps

In the meantime, in My Guests you could write "Joe's +1" in the name instead of filling in the actual name and then change it when you know the name of their +1. Does that answer your question? Let me know! Smiley smile

How are your guests RSVPing? Mail or website?

    Hi Kim,

If the wife or husband search for their partner's name, they should be able to find them in the list.

Is that working on your side?

Hey Shaunj! The two websites are actually quite different in their way to go about this. There isn't any functionality for household. The group function seemed more general and allowed for more options. I'll keep your suggestion in mind though! How many different "groups" or families are you inviting?

Is it possible to add a plus one option without a name to a guest and have the guest fill out the name when they RSVP?

    Hi Emile,

a friend of mine that got married last year used the weddingwire.com website instead and it slightly differs in features and fuctions compared to this canadian site. one feature that is missing from the guest list is the "add household" function. Is there a way to do this on this website other than creating a group?

    Thanks Emilie!

I went through these instructions and everything looks right but my guests cannot answer for more than just themselves. IE Wife cannot answer for Husband

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Oh also important to remember to click the 'Add' button after entering this information! I can't even count how many times I entered all this information and clicked Save just to be confused where the additional guest went!
