How many guest are you inviting? More or fewer than your SO?

Joey, on October 4, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 23

Making a guests list takes lots of time and compromise. How many friends and family members will be there for you on your wedding day? Are you inviting more, fewer, or about the same number of guests as your future spouse?

I invited more because I have a larger extended family. It was about equal for the amounts of guests that actually came though as most of my family did not make the trip across the country.

We're inviting 31. About 80% are from his side as were only inviting family and his is much bigger than mine. Weve been together for almost 10 years though so I already feel like his family is mine and vice versa.

We are inviting around the same number of guests. My family is significantly bigger, however, he has a lot of friends and their family's that he is close too, so it all evens out.

I definitely have more. as I have more family (or people that are like my family).

our broken down lists are funny to me. we have his family (then broken down by dad's side, moms side), my family, jersey friends (that's from when I lived there), out of town friend (mix of both of our out of town friends), Windsor friends (the majority are friends with both of us).

We were about even. My FH has a larger family contingent as my family immigrated here, but I invited more friends and coworkers.

I think we’re probably close to the same. It’s hard to say since it feels like we’re pretty even for it!

He's definitely inviting more people than me. The higher number mostly comes from his extended family.

We are about even!! 75 from both sides of the family (family and family friends) and then about 50 of our friends combined! Aiming for 200!

My family is HUGE compared to the amount of family members he feels close enough to to invite. However my "Brittany's Friends" list on our planner has a whopping 7 people on it, and his friends list is as long as my family one... 107 guests total, and we're about tied for number of guests... I'd say it's maybe 60/40 for him.

I am inviting more than him. He does not have close relationships with many of his family members. Also my friends quickly became "our" friends, so it is more important for us if a lot more of my friends came. The guest list is about 65% me, 35% him.

Fewer. ALL of his family lives in the surrounding areas, whereas mine all live in England. So his side of the guest list is significantly more than mine.

We're at about 60/40. 60% being my side that I have a B-list for. We do have a few mutual friends as well.

It's about a 70/30 split, my side being the 70%. I have a huge family that we are both really close to and he has no siblings/aunts/uncles.

We are having a smaller wedding and are restricted to about 60 guests. It is not too bad as our families are not huge. However, I have more close family than him, our divide might be close to 60% mine and 40% his.

We have a limit of 250 put on us but we have yet to actually cut the list into an A-list and B-list as there are more than 250 people that we want there for our big day.

His side will for sure be bigger than mine. He had more 2nd cousins than I that are closer than my aunts and uncles. His side will probably take up 60% of our list, mine will take up at most 30% and then our friends will be taking 10% of our guest list. Of course this doesn't mean that this will be the end numbers seeing as how my family lives so much further away than his so my number of 30% is actually pretty generous in that aspect.

I'd say the list is 60-70% his guests and 30%-40% mine. He has twice as many uncles and aunts as I do, so this was expected in my mind long before we put the first draft of the guest list to paper.

We are going to have somewhere between 125-135 guests... My fiancé comes from a large family with kids who have kids so his side of the guest list (if you divide it up) is about 60% - with just his family. Then my family would make up about 20% and our family friends, a couple coworkers and extremely close friends make up the remaining 20%.

We went back and forth so much on who we could possibly cut to have a smaller wedding but ultimately decided we would regret not inviting everyone who is family.

The guests are about 80% mine, and 20% his.
Keep in mind we have mutual friends coming and much of my family treats his like he’s one of them.
