How are you addressing your invitations?

Joey, on October 25, 2018 at 08:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 18

Addressing invitations can be a very slow process! Have you studied up on the etiquette rules so you know exactly how to address your envelopes? Will you be addressing your invitations by hand? Are you outsourcing this task to a professional? Or do you have another work-around planned?

I got envelopes with our return address printed on them. I hand addressed the invitations though.

    LUCKY DUCK!!!!! Smiley smile

although. I can't complain too much as my good friend is a graphic designer so she offered to design all my wedding stationary for free. I just have to pay to print (and I have a friend that works at vistaprint so SCOOOORREEE for employee discount).

I got labels from staples and printed them as it was easier and precise to names in particular. Its half for others to take the time to habdwrite personally.

I ordered our address return labels through vistaprint but will be hand addressing the invitations.

I started doing some today and just found out that one of our guests may have split with her husband I was going to put on the invitation and I only found out because I asked my fsil about whether she used her husbands name or not (because she’s on my fiancé’s side and he had no clue) 🙃 that was almost really bad etiquette

I think it can change a little by a wedding to wedding basis, depending on your formality... but for the most part, I 100% believe you should hand write your addresses on your invitations... We ordered return address labels that matched our invitations, but I wrote out each and every name/address.

I also Googled how to phrase the names properly, titles, phrasing guests, etc... We aren't doing kids or "plus ones" (we only invited people who's name we knew), so the "and guest" or "and family" part didn't apply to us.

When you're hosting an event that easily costs upwards of $10,000 (often much more than that) you go more formal on the invites. That's just my opinion.

I don't think you need to pay money for a calligrapher, but there's something much more formal/personal about writing it out by hand.

    This is where I shine!

I work for a printing company so I am able to make custom labels super easily!

I will be doing labels as my writing is horrible hahah!

Also my RSVP cards will be custom per person to add a bit more uniqueness to them!

I really want people to think I spent over $10.00 per invite when really they're costing me about $0.80 each Smiley sexy

We sent electronic invitations! There were still "envelopes" and then they clicked through to get to the next page. We could personalize the envelopes so wrote the person or couples name and for children we added "and family".

I personally don't like address labels on wedding invitations. I found a link on how to print addresses on envelopes and look nice (script). and my boss is nice enough to let me use our printer at work. for our return address. we will either get it done by the printer or I will get a customized stamp from etsy.

As a savvy computer person, we're making up address labels for the envelope with addresses and such. I'll probably use a font that is both fancy but still readable for the post office. Most people will probably throw out the envelope soon after getting the invitations anyways so I'm not going to put a lot of effort into it.

We will have an inner envelope that holds all the pieces of the invite, and we'll have the name(s) of the guests on the front. I'll probably still use a label but with a fancier (still legible) font.

We'll be addressing the envelopes by hand, which shouldn't be a problem. I'm having return address labels made, to cut down on the manual labor.

Plus, guests will have to RSVP online, so we won't have to get a second envelope or have to address anything more! YAY!!

    Thanks heavens for electronic invites!
But we’ll be addressing our thank you cards by hand.

We just printed labels with the addresses and had labels made with our return address. We didn’t stress about the etiquette. Most people the invitations were going to wouldn’t have a clue what proper addressing etiquette is anyways lol.

I think I might hand write out the address of the invitee's but for our return address we will have a stamp made or stickers made.

I will most likely be making labels.

I have ordered address labels with our information from Vistaprint. And then can easily purchase labels and make them on the computer

I will be addressing my invite envelopes by hand. I'm confident that I can write neat enough to make it look nice and I really don't want to spend the extra money for a calligrapher. I have been worrying a lot about invitation etiquette and have been reading up on it and that is why I'm having hand addressed envelopes as opposed to having the addresses printed by a computer. My etiquette research has said that envelopes should be hand addressed by someone to show that care, time, and effort has been given to the invite.
