Holiday-themed Weddings

Stephanie, on July 26, 2018 at 18:17 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 11

Anyone having a holiday-themed wedding?

I wouldn't say it was our theme, but each table wrote us notes, date ideas, advice, and we will open them on a designated holiday or special occasion. But, maybe if I had gotten married closer to a holiday, I would've included it more. Lots of cool ideas out there!

We are getting married Thanksgiving but are not usually those colors. I do like those colors but I let the FH pick them, real and grey

We are not having a holiday theme but we are getting the day before saint patrick's day so easily could have. The 17th is my grandmas 90th birthday so I will probably include a small something to honour her.

The holiday themed weddings look gorgeous. The colours and designs are done nicely to corporate the holiday.

I wish! lol if it wasn't for such cold weather in the heart of Canada I would have loved a Christmas time wedding Smiley smile As it is I will be having my wedding on October 5th next year so as much as we love halloween we are going to mostly have a general fall theme with lots of red, orange, and our two fav colours (plum and teal).

Our wedding was the week before Thanksgiving but we didn't include anything Thanksgiving related.

My first wedding was Halloween. It was a blast. We had a HUGE costume party.

We’re getting married on Easter weekend and our theme goes with the celebratory Spring feel.

We are getting married between Christmas and New Years. I’m not going over the top christmasy. But we will have Christmas trees decorating the ceremony space. And I’m including lots of silver (with a dark purple) and sparkly things. Also lots of candles I may put a candy cane at every place setting.

Im doing Cupcakes and I’m thinking of seasonal flavours like eggnog and gingerbread.

i’m actually really excited that we are having or wedding over the holiday.

Our dating anniversary is Christmas Eve and I would have loooooved to have gotten married on Christmas Eve but wouldn't have worked well with the church haha! I love when people do holiday themed weddings but it still has to look classy! No tacky Hallmark styles!!

A winter/Christmas like theme was our second choice! If we couldn't get the summer venue we wanted then we would have gone with a December wedding with a Christmasy theme to it. The colours are absolutely beautiful! I love Christmas and winter weddings!

I would have looooved a Christmas or New Year's wedding... even Halloween-esque (mostly fall themed with pops of black and pumpkins)....

But honestly I think moving forward, always having your anniversary around a holiday would drive me crazy. I like having a total special/unique day/time of year that's just for us.

Christmas is my favourite holiday ever (like I start getting in the Christmas spirit in October... mmkay, Canadian Thanksgiving - Turkey Coma Day - Christmas Season Begins. lol) ... but I couldn't imagine trying to have a wedding around Christmas...
