Hahaha I really liked this video Sam! So funny and sadly true! Smiley laugh

You should see this one I made about guest lists:

10 things couples think about when making their guest list

You should make one too! And tell us how's been your experience! Smiley winking

I inserted the video directly into the comment, it makes it much easier for everyone to see. You can insert videos and images into your posts and comments by clicking the icons on the left to the "heart" (emojis).

I really like your idea of adding a TBD fund! What were the last-minute things you ended up buying just before the wedding?

We've gone a little bit over budget but have tried not to go crazy. (I've had to rein in my fiance at times especially at craft stores because he loves shopping and doesn't think in terms of logistics.) Now that we're close to the end, we're definitely like "eff it, just buy it" so I recommend trying to save some TBD money for last minute stuff!

Also, this is good for a laugh Smiley winking

We are below the budget currently, and I think it might just stay that way!

So far I have been sticking to our budget. I look at the numbersTo see if it is feasible and also if I can get deals on items that I know will be used once. Also I have been getting a lot of tips in areas for the wedding social to stay under budget.

I agree with Valerie- it is so easy to get swept up and over spend!

We have gone over our initial budget- but with some help from my parents, not by much. I am also constantly evaluating and looking for places to adjust to make sure we have a great wedding that we will remember fondly, and make sure we don't start our married life in debt.

I keep reminding myself that just because everyone does something one way- that is not the only way. It also helps that a dislike a lot of wedding tradtitions- turns out eliminating them saves a lot!

We went over a bit (a few of my estimates were unrealistic and I just wasn't aware at the time), but I've been adjusting our wants and needs and the guest list as we go to keep costs in check.

I'm always re-evaluating the budget and adjusting accordingly. Like I realized FH's suit was going to be more than I budgeted for (I was budgeting for him to rent and then we decided that buying was a smarter option for him), so I took the cost out of some decorations (the venue is beautiful, we absoltely didn't need them).

I think the best way to keep on budget is to not set it and then get carried away and spend whatever you want! It's easy to get swept up in planning a beautiful wedding and losing your head a bit.
