Hair and mua

Vivian, on August 21, 2019 at 18:24 Posted in Beauty 0 6
Hi lovely ladies!
I’m in the process selecting hair and MUA. I wonder what the best process is. Should I book someone and then do the trial or should the booking happens AFTER the trial? I got the impression that June is a popular wedding month and the artists are booked quickly. But if I just book now, what if I don’t like the style at the trial? If I do the trial first, they may be taken for my wedding date. Should I just book now and trust that they are talented and can always figure out the hair and makeup style that I like? Thank you!

Check fb and ig to see pictures of makeup and hair you like then email a ton of MUA and hair and ask them to recreate the pictures you picked. i would do a trial now and then book them for the wedding date (if you like them)

Definitely research hair/MUA styles on instagram so you get an idea of what their style is.

I think choosing a hair and makeup artist might have been the most difficult choice for me. I don’t think you’ll really know until your wedding day if it was the right person, but you need to just like their style, consistency of their work (on Instagram or whatever platform they choose to use), and them.

Do lots of research! I followed my hair and makeup company on Instagram for months before finally booking them, looking at reviews and everything they posted.
As Stephanie said many companies won’t do a trial without a booking. You have to like their over all style and talent before you book.
Your trial is the time to have them to what you want, and tweak things so they are perfect on your wedding day!

What I did was I researched a lot, found a place I was pretty sure I wanted and I paid them to do my make up for my engagement photos.

i was happy with the results so I paid my deposit with them for my wedding.

i definitely recommend this so you actually can see their skill set rather than through some carefully selected photos they may show on Instagram or in a portfolio.

Most places won’t do a trial without the deposit paid, because the trial is included in the cost. If the trial is separate, do the trial before booking (but in my experience, the deposit was less than the trial). Either way you will be out some money if you don’t like their work.
