It doesn't go with our theme either, but I wanted to spread out the notes throughout the year.

This is a super cute idea! It wouldn't go with my theme... but I saw a similar idea where there's a paper at each table, asking for notes/advice/good wishes that the couple will open/read on that year anniversary!

IMO, people often enjoy their holidays, long weekends, etc with family/trips... having your wedding on one day of a 3 day long weekend is taking away from possibly a family's vacation, or traditions.

I had thought about getting married on a long weekend in the summer, thinking some guests would be able to come who otherwise couldn't take an extra day off work. But, we didn't end up doing that.

We are incorporating holidays though. Each table will have a different holiday, and they will write us notes, advice, date ideas, traditions for that holiday, and we will open it up our first holiday together.

We did not get married on a holiday but have friends that got married over Thanksgiving a few years ago. It was a lovely time and we met tons of great people but we also really missed that time with our families.
