Fog Effects or Uplighting?

Lynnie, on February 3, 2020 at 09:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 25

Which special effect would you prefer to visually upgrade your reception?? Would you rather use coloured uplighting to totally transform your reception space? Or would you rather use fog effects to dramatically change the mood for your first dance?

Which reception extra would you choose?

We are doing soft white uplights around the venue and soft white pin lights for the tables. We are doing the fog effect for the dance floor as it looks awesome with the DJ lights.

I'm not really a fan of either effect. If I had to choose, it would be uplighting but without colour.

We have chosen 10 led up lights. I feel as though it will give our room an amazing glow. Super excited.

The lighting in our venue is pretty comprehensive and awesome as it stands (the space is used for a lot of concerts, etc), so the fog machine, I guess? Maybe just for the entrance at the reception.

Uplighting for sure! Fog just makes you cough lol We're doing uplighting through our dj/mc and it's great because they control the lights during dinner and then use them to change the atmosphere for the dancing part

Our DJ had a package that offered both, so we opted for that. Our reception hall is mainly going to be lit by candlelight but the up light will give it a little extra. However, if I were to choose between the two, I would say the fog for the first dance would be my choice.

Fog effect for the first dance would be super cool.

It was an option for us, but we didn't want to spend the money on it for 3 minutes.

Uplighting. The idea of colours seems great and the venue a look to take pictures.

I love fog but I’d say uplifting to be considerate to my guests

Lighting for sure. I can't stand fog, it makes it so hard to breathe.

I also can't do fog due to asthma, and we had uplighting and loved it!

I prefer lighting, it can really set the tone for the evening and give it great ambiance if done right.
