Flowers: real, faux, sola, or paper?

Lynnie, on December 6, 2018 at 11:05 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 25

What kind of flowers are you using? Are you sticking with fresh flowers or are you going the artificial route with faux, sola, or paper? Smiley flower

I did real because my SIL had offered to make the bouquets at cost! Flowers were not a priority for us so I was not wanting to spend nearly $1000 on real bouquets! It was a lot of work for her but I am super appreciative that she did them!

We will be having real flowers. I am planning to order from Costco and will do all the bouquets and boutonnières myself. We don’t need flowers for decoration as it’s covered as part of the venue.

We are doing sola flowers, they are truly amazing. I couldn't be happier with the choice.

We’re using real flowers/greenery for everything. It sort of works within our budget for bouquets and centrepieces, plus it was number one on my list of “must haves” for the wedding ☺️

Real flowers for us, for everything. I had thought about getting fake for the bouquets so I could keep it but I don't think I'll do that.

We are doing real flowers, from what I hear the faux flowers aren't even that much cheaper. And they are more work too

We are only having flowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages, so they will be real. I ordered through Costco (Valley Flowers), and I'm really excited for them. Nothing but good reviews, and a GREAT price!

Bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, 11 boutonnieres, 2 corsages: Taxes in (Delivery included) $425.

I'm going with real! We are only doing the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres for floral things. Our centrepieces are non floral, same with our decor.

I was going to go with faux but my mum insisted on real and also agreed to pay the difference, at which point you really can’t argue it 😂

Ditto! and I want such a little amount of flowers. I figured why not go with real. its just the bridesmaids bouquets. small bouquet for the junior bridesmaid. bouts for the dads. corsage for the moms (possibly a purse one to pin on their clutch). originally I wasn't even going to carry a bouquet (didn't see the point for a 30 second walk down an aisle and some photos). but a very good friend of my FFIL (she is like a stepmom to us...but they are just friends) was kind enough to buy my bouquet for me

We're going with Faux flowers, in order to stay within budget! Our "theme" includes tropical leaves and flowers, which would be expensive if we went with real flowers.

We're having real flowers - but the only florals we are having are the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres.

The one piece of advice my professional photographer friends stressed to me was - use real for the above items. Not only do they photograph better but your brain then associates the smell of your chosen flowers with your wedding day.

We're doing the same thing - real for the flowers we're wearing/holding, fake for the centerpieces.

All fresh flowers. I was going to do faux for centre pieces, but I found an amazing florist so we decided to do real. Can’t wait!

Im doing real flowers - much to my chagrin as I’m not really a flower person to begin with but I’m also not a fan of artificial ones like paper, etc. as much as I wish I could for the savings

Faux flowers for me. It's cheaper and you don't have to worry about flowers dying too soon Smiley smile

We did a combination - real flowers for the bouquets, boutonniers, corsages, and some fresh flowers on the bar, sign in table, etc. But our centerpieces had submerged artificial orchids in them.
