Flip Out Or Forget It? - Critiques about your ring

Joey, on January 14, 2019 at 09:13 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 26

How do you react when people make comments about your ring that aren't very nice? Does this make you flip out? Or are you able to forget it?

Flip Out! Being rude about your ring is just, well, rude! Judgements about how it looks are totally uncool, especially about something so sentimental. It's materialistic and it's hurtful.

Forget It! Who cares if they don't like it as long as you love it? They don't have to wear it, so their comments don't matter to you, you just brush them off.

Flip out. If they're not wearing it, they have no place having that opinion, let alone telling me it.

If my mom or best friend hated it, it might sting a bit, but I'm sure she would be gentle and that she would also recognize that it totally suits me. Anyone else, I don't particularly care what they think - it's MY ring and I love it!

That said, the woman at the store where my fiance bought it told me I had - and I quote - "fat knuckles" when I went to go get it resized and that kinda pissed me off. I don't think she meant any harm, but I was shocked that she would say such a thing to a customer!!

Flip out. How rude can people be? Someone actually told me my ring was "so small" the DAY I GOT ENGAGED. I just said "wow that is so incredibly rude to say." It was very satisfying Smiley sexy

I agree with Brittany! Although I truly don't care what ay one else thinks about my ring (because it is perfect in absolutely every way) if someone was going to try and down talk someones wedding ring that is seriously poor taste. Check yourself.

I'd flip out in a subtle way, more so because someone being critique-y or negative about anything isn't something I'd ignore. Not to sound like I think everything is perfect, but if someone was being rude, I wouldn't just take it. Especially with something as sentimental as my wedding ring.

I guess I'd politely flip. If someone's that petty, I'd be honest with them and say they're just miserable and projecting onto me. That's true insecurity that they feel they need to tear people down to make themselves feel better.

I hate people like this!! Have a coworker who likes to critique everyone but herself. She thinks she’s better than everyone but hey - I don’t see a ring on her finger! I’d definitely be a polite flip out lol

Flip out in a polite way - Who TF do you think you are? My fiancé chose this ring and put his whole heart into it. The only acceptable thing to say about someone's ring is "Oh, it's so pretty/I love it!" even if you don't. Same as when you see a not so pretty baby!

I'd flip out, because if someone is willing to day anything about my ring to my face then I'll be telling them just how it is. I would never ever say anything rude or negative about someone's ring, not to their face that's for sure. If it's not your ring then just keep the opinion to yourself, I don't want to hear about how my ring is "not big enough" or "shiny enough" or anything because my ring is mine, yours is yours. I'm happy with my ring, I love it and that's all that matters. But if someone is rude enough to say something I'll say something back lol

    Forget it.

I am the one who will be wearing it for the rest of my life. Plus it is a very nice ring, and I have not had any negative comments yet!

    Meh. Forget it.
I didn’t get an engagement ring and have been wearing a sentimental family heirloom to get used to the feeling.

So far so good, majority of people go with the whole "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" or they just tell a white lie.

If they did though, I would just forget it and probably just say jokingly "Well it's a good thing it's my ring and not yours then"!
