Flip Out Or Forget It? - A vendor mixup

Joey, on August 26, 2019 at 09:11 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 22

After spending months pouring over Pinterest and attending vendor meetings to design the perfect style for your wedding, you get the wrong delivery from one of your vendors - maybe it's the wrong color flowers, the wrong flavor cake, or the wrong linens... How do you handle it?

Flip Out! You spent SO MUCH time and money getting all of this right, you had a plan and a contract, and your vendor had one job to do. This is unacceptable and it's time to freak out.

Forget It! Mistakes happen. As long as you still have something, even if it isn't what you ordered, you can forget about the problem. Your guests might not even notice.

Hm... For me, it will depend on 1. what the mix-up is, and 2. How the vendor handles it. I probably won't care THAT much either way, but you never know...

Depends on how bad the mess up is. Bright red linens? Probably would flip out. Ivory instead of white. Forget it.

Forget it. Your guests won't know anyways. Pretend it never happened.

Forget it, unless it was the photographer. Yes, then there would be some flipping out, especially if the second shooter didn't come as the reason we hired a second shooter was a lot of the shots we want happen at the same time.

Forget it! The vendors were in order knowing the main event was taken care of by professionals doing their work. Everything worked out well except for the videographer.

Probably flip out. For the amount of money we're spending on vendors, everything better be perfect and I'd expect some compensation if it's not. That said, as long as whatever it is doesn't take away from the vision, I could live with it.

This is difficult. flip out at first because yes, they had a job to do that should have been done, but I mean after the initial flip out stuff happens and theres nothing I can do to change it.

I would flip out for sure. Spending all that time planning down to the very last detail and to have it not come to life over a mix up would irritate me.

I would forget it on the day but I'd be looking for some kind of reimbursement later. I guess it would also depend on how bad the mess up is.

I'd flip, especially since I spent all this time having meetings/finalizing these details and the vendor just drops the ball - stuff happens, but if you are a professional, you should triple check this stuff!

I'd flip out. I am paying you to give me specific services/items so you better listen and give me what I asked for, that's your job.

I'd be annoyed for sure but I think on the day of, I'm not going to be worrying about trivial things. I would definitely be calling though and getting some reimbursement Smiley smile

Flip out - The last thing I'd need on my wedding day is to worry about where my order went and how I could get it back.

FLIP OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As an event planner, this is not ok. It is the vendors job to get it right, simple as that. You can be kind and flip out but I still wouldn't just be "ok whatever"

Honestly I would flip out a little but say I went to pick up the plates and cutlery and instead of the copper cutlery they gave me silverware - I don't think that it would be that big of a deal. I would FOR SURE ask for a discount for the fact that I didn't get the right order and was forced to use the wrong one, but can people still eat with them? Yes.

The only vendor we have to worry about is catering that day. All is prior and I don't see any mixup with food. Regardless we will be eating something
