First Looks - Overrated or Underrated?

I think they're overrated, I prefer the excitement and anticipation of showing up at the end of the aisle and walking down seeing his reaction

Thats so true Kimberly. I am thinking of doing the same.

My FH is a traditionlist in this and so am i. I want to see his as i walk down the aisle. It has been my favourite part of weddings. I feel that if we werent set on tradition we still wouldnt do this

Its not something i really care about. i guess its good for people who are having a later ceremony not sure

I don't have a strong opinion about this one way or the other to be honest.

Depending what the day-of schedule is, they can be great way to get some couple time before the events of the day or can be stressful to cram in before the ceremony.

We're not doing them. My FH is not traditional at all, but the one 'traditional' request he has made is to not see my dress before the wedding.

Underrated. The only way we'll be able to have any pictures in natural light will be to do a first look. I'm excited to have a horse and buggy ride. I want to enjoy as much of the day with FH as possible

Underrated. We had a first look and had some comments about it not being “traditional” but I wouldn’t want to give up that moment. It was amazing just having us see each other for the first time without anyone else seeing. It was an amazing feeling.
This way walking down the isle was more relaxed for both of us

Underrate. We are doing a first look because my FH is shy and doesn't like to be the centre of attention so we want to have the special moment together before anyone else gets to see us

Overrated . We will not be doing a first look. First time he will see me is going down the aisle. ... also the grooms face when he sees his bride for the first time is my favourite part of the wedding. There’s not many times in life you see that much emotion on your mans face

Underrated. The shots are the memories to look back based on the couples decision which tears of joy are shared. Personalized gifts and cards shared with beach other.

We aren't having a traditional aisle, so I want a first look. I'm excited to capture the look on our faces.

I love the intimate moment of a first look. I would love to do a first look so that we could have that private moment take a few pictures, and he could calm my nerves before I have a bunch of eyes on me as I walk down the aisle. My fiancé though does not want to see me until I am at the end of the aisle walking towards him! So a shot of liquid courage should help with those nerves! LOL

Overrated. We waited for my walk down the aisle to see each other and it was worth it!

Underrated. It’s so private which is important in such a public day

Underrated. This is the moment i will be waiting for. I want to feel all the emotions and see his look at the other end of the aisle. I want to share this with my guest and feel the love all around.

Underrated, we aren't doing one because my FH wants the first time he sees me to be when I'm walking down the aisle, but I love them so so much. The photos are always gorgeous!

We didn’t do one so I’m going to say overrated for us. But, I know many people that loved them.

Neither - we won't be doing one since I want the first look to be at the end of the aisle, but I totally get why so many people do.

Overrated. For me it is personally very important to not see each other before the wedding. I'm going to be a class case of emotions when I see FH for the first time and I want our guests to get to see that.

Overrated. We're doing photos of us before the ceremony so that we're not rushing around after, but has nothing to do with a first look opportunity

Underrated! We kind of got pushed into having one because our venue timeline however I am so attached to this idea now. I can't wait! I think the first look down the aisle is overrated.

I think it's a really great idea, it's so personal and intimate, however my FH and I have discussed and he wants to wait to see me walk down the isle.

Overrated! definitely not for me

Overrated - but it's an easy way to get the pictures done first so that you can skip the cocktail hour all together and get to the party without having your guests wait hours.
