First Look

We aren’t doing a first look - we’re keeping it traditional. I really want to see his reaction when he sees me walk down the aisle.

itll be a special moment for us.

i think the first look photos are always really nice though!

Also seeing his reaction to me coming down the aisle was amazing, we definitely wouldn't have changed a thing!

We did a "first touch" he was blindfolded and we get to "see" each other before we left for the ceremony. We wanted to wait till the ceremony for him to see me but we still wanted a moment together before the ceremony so we decided to do a blindfolded version. It definitely helped calm our nerves!

We are going to have a first look. Purely because we are both nervous people so I think it will help settle our nerves. Plus, for some, including us, I think it will let us be completely ourselves, not worry about shedding a tear...or bawling haha.

I recently saw a video from our videographer at our venue where they did their first look down the aisle, before the ceremony, so we may look into that as well!

I also agree with some commentors , it gives you the chance to be alone for a little bit, from what I hear that doesn't happen! so yo uget a chance to soak the whole day in together.

Talk to your photographer. depending on how long your ceremony is. and where you want to go get photos (distance wise between ceremony/photos/reception). a seasoned photographer will be able to help time this out for you. that potentially is a lot of time to be able to do them all (even with 1 photographer).

and if you do a first look. with a 130pm wedding. that is a whole hour to 2 hours earlier you need to be up and ready to go. for me that would be a NO WAY (mornings and I aren't friends)

We did the traditional thing and it was great! No regrets!

We are doing a first look as our ceremony is at 5, and then cocktail hour starts right after that. We want to be able to spend time with our family, and of course the food!

This will also give the whole wedding party to have some fun before the wedding and get all the nerves out of the way

I personally have never liked the idea of a first look. I love that "ooohhhhh" moment when a bride walks into the ceremony.

we then talked about possibly doing it because of logistics and not wanting a long time between ceremony/reception. but my FH felt so STRONGLY about not having a first look. as in there was no negotiating. which to me was awesome because I really didn't want one.
I am fortunate in that we have 2 photographers. so photos won't take a ton of time as 1 photog will take photos of us as a couple, while 2nd one takes photos of bridal party (I am so excited for the fun photos they will take together).

I would love to do a first look, but I think I love more the idea of the whole church first look, more people to admire me LOL It may sound bad said like that, but hear me out...

I'm not really a girly girl, so wearing a dress & full makeup for me is something to be seen, it never happens

Also, my FH will cry either way xD

We are going traditional. We both agree we want the first time to be when I'm walking down the aisle!

I am all for the first look photos! My sister-in-law did them and they turned out wonderful. My FH however is on the fence about the idea. I really like the aspect of the intimacy before the big show: spend 30 minutes before the wedding because the rest of the wedding you are going to be entertaining everyone you may not even get 5 min alone with you hubby.

We will be doing a first look and im so excited to get our anxiety out of the way, pictures out of the way so we can relax and have a good time at cocktails with everyone

This is exactly how I feel, I am 74 days away and I pick up my dress in a couple of weeks. Definitely looking forward to showing him for the first time.

No sorry, It was just a photo that I found.

My Fiance and I are also doing a first look, we want that moment just for the two of us. I don't keep secrets from him and its been so hard not to show him my dress!!! he is also so anxious to see me in it that he doesn't want to wait until i walk down the aisle to see me in it!

We also chose to do this so we could get the majority of the photos out of the way before the ceremony, i want to enjoy every minute with family and friends as i can, i don't want to miss too much!

Do you know the church in the second picture? It’s beautiful.

We won't have a bridal party to get ready with and we've been living together for 10 years, we do everything together so we're getting ready together then doing photos before the ceremony. First look isn't really important to either of us and this way we can include our dog in photos without stressing her out and guests aren't waiting a long time between ceremony and reception.

We're doing a first look for the exact same reason! I have always envisioned myself walking down the asile for my first look, but it is what it is. We don't want our guests to be waiting a long time whie we take pictures, so pictures pre-ceremony it is!

We had to pass the first look as i had to help him pick my husbands accesories to his outfit chosen by him. He also saw my outfit as my parents had gotten it overseas.

We have decided against the first look, as cute as the pictures always turn out it's just not for us!
It is very important to my fiance that we wait until the ceremony to see each other. He absolutely loves the idea if seeing me walking down the aisle for the first time.
We do plan to do a "first touch" where we will be on either side of the wall, holding hands and exchange a letter we will write. So our photographer will capture that moment for us instead of a first look, then get the actual first look during the ceremony.

First look 100%!! I want that moment to be just the two of us. I also feel like it will be less stressful/anxious if we did it that way!

No first look for us! He doesnt want to see me until I am walking down the aisle!

I’m thinking about doing a first touch! So we will get to touch hands and speak get some great photos. Calm our nerves and then his first time seeing me will be the ailse.

We did walk down the aisle. I am so glad we did. We had two photographers, so can’t wait to see the photos of each of us seeing the other for the first time!

We did a first look and it was amazing. I dont have our photos back yet, since my wedding was just on saturday but i am SO EXCITED to see them!

My husband and I both decided that having some time alone with just us and the photographer was a great choice as it let us relax and calm our nerves a bit.

And we found that it didnt take away from the ceremony at all. He still cried the second i stepped out and walked down the aisle. I still cried when i saw him waiting for me at the altar.

So i would highly recomend a first look!
