My FH wants to wear runners on our wedding day. He's thinking of wearing Jordans, he's not sure if it will be all white or red and white.

Is anyone letting or have let their FH wear runners.

Im honestly not sure if Im okay with the runners idea

My FH wanted to wear Jordan’s too, but our wedding is formal so I told him, absolutely not, there was no comprise. Especially because he wears Jordan’s every day anyways. I think if your FH wants to wear the Jordan’s maybe you can negotiate with him, and see if he will wear them during the reception only, or just for photos. I seen a couple of weddings (on YouTube) where the groom was wearing sneakers and I personally thought it didn’t compliment the wedding party’s attire during the ceremony, his shoes stood out so much. But during the reception it didn’t look as bad. Hopefully you can do some convincing LOL. Good luck, happy planning Smiley smile !

My brother is a sneaker head. He wore Vans during his destination wedding...perfect for the beach.

I have a large shoe size and have trouble finding shoes that fit and that are comfortable.. I’d like to wear a pair of Converse, but it’s too early to decide as I haven’t gotten my dress yet. If I had my way, I’d just go barefoot, but it’s not a beach wedding and it just wouldn’t work. Also my FH isn’t ok with me wearing kicks.

Hope that the 2 of you can find some middle ground.

I personally wouldn't have my husband then wear runners as its not the right footwear for the outfit. Anytime besides wedding yes. I myself wouldn't allow it.

This is how we had our outfits matched thw shoes.

I think if your okay with the casual aspect of it then go for it ! i know a girl who is a plumber and very proud of it, and she wore her work boots down the isle! it was perfect for her , mind you she also had a dress that hid them 95% of the time.

But if it does bother you , i would try and compromise on him maybe wearing them for some more casual fun pictures instead, along with wearing them at the reception , and keep a nicer pair on for the ceremony.

I think it is nice that he wants to incorporate his personality in his outfit but I think it just sends the wrong message at a wedding.

All I can think of is the movie Runaway Bride now lol

I do not necessarily find it an issue, although it would be hypocritical to say I would agree. My partner asked me whether he can wear converse and I told him he can do it after the ceremony.

Stephanie I am so feeling you! We are incorporatinf our dance style (we are both breakdancers) on our wedding and my partner understood that he could be dressed up they way he wants on the wedding day! I told him that he has to wait for the ceremony and the first part of the reception to be over and then he can do whatever he wants! However I am still staying on my dress and shoes so I honestly find it unfair if he goes and puts on a tracksuit on this specific day, I really think t can wait for 24 hours.

It’s great to incorporate your personalities into your wedding day but for most people it’s still a formal event aka not a marathon

Not during the ceremony! My fiance prefers shorts over pants. I told him once pictures are over, he can change into shorts. He is fine with that.

I think a compromise would be great!

If he wants he can wear them in a couple pictures (like at the end of your photos) so that he has them 'captured' and at reception. Totally reasonable I think!

And then you can just never print out those photos with the weird looking shoes Smiley winking

I suggested Converse, but hes not a fan. He's a Jordans all the way apparently. I've been really easy going with a lot his suggestion s for the wedding, since it is his day too, but the runners thing is something I can't agree with

Yea im going to tell him that. The more I think about it, the more I don't want to see him at the alter with runners on. It's going throw everything off

The theme is more mre formal, our colors are red, white and gold. I think im going to have to tell him to comprise, it's going to look werid. He just loves shoes Soo much and Jordans are his favorite.

No way would I let my FH wear runners for the ceremony or pictures. If he wants to wear them during the reception sure I'm fine with that!

The only runners I've seen worn on the day of have been converse and those generally look okay. But it really does depend on the overall theme and feel of the wedding.

I think it depends on the overall feeling of your wedding. If it's a more formal wedding, I don't know if I'd be super keen on it. I also think the colours he's mentioning are going to 'pop' in photos and will be really noticeable. I guess it comes down to the following:

    - How formal is your event.. will the runners look completely out of place with your outfit and the bridal parties outfits?

    - Are runners "his thing". Is he know for wearing some really cool pairs of kicks? If so, it sort of ties into his personality.

A compromise would be for him to wear formal shoes during the ceremony and pictures and switch into the runners at the end of the photos and for the reception!
