Evening wedding - just wanted to share.

Ashleigh, on September 1, 2017 at 11:04 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
So before we left for holidays last week, we stopped in to our wedding venue and had a drink on the patio which overlooks where our ceremony will be. It's so beautiful, I'm so glad we did this. We wanted to see where the sun is around 7:00 pm and celebrate that our weddings is now only a year awaySmiley laugh We started moving the tables around and we realized that we will not be able to comfortably seat everyone in the reception area. After some consideration, we've decided to skip having designated tables/seating. Instead we will have 6 tall cruiser tables (for standing) and maybe 3 long tables pushed together for random seating if you need to rest your feet. I have already purchased all of our glassware and floral foam for the centerpieces, thankfully it will still all be used. Anyway, we realized that their is no need for designated seating for an evening wedding. People want to mingle. Let's give the people what they want! Also, we've always wanted it to be short and sweet. There will be lots of h'ordeurves, platters and desserts. We have decided to shorten our wedding also. Originally it was 7:00 pm - 12:00 am. Now it will be 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm or 11. now we can afford to do open bar, since it will only be 3-4 hours of drinks being served. I'm super excited about all of our plans shifting and coming together so nicely. One year to go Smiley ring

It's exciting when things come together. We are still in the beginning stages. I hope we will have the same have the same feeling once the tent is booked. At least we have the caterer.

These are excellent decisions. Our ceremony will start at 3 pm and the reception will be from 5 to 9 pm. Same thing - open bar. We have 23 days to go. Your evening wedding will be lovely especially if there's a nice sunset.

Thats so exciting! I love the idea of an evening wedding with mingling and h'ordeurvesand desserts. I think that will be a lovely way to celebrate Smiley smile
My FH and i did the same thing- checked out our venue with exactly one year to go to check out the lighting and where the sun would be for our ceremony and how much would still be green (we are getting married in a park) and all that stuff. We ended up picking an entirely different portion of the park to use than we had anticipated!
