Eloping

Courtney, on July 30, 2018 at 12:01 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7

Hi guys, I am considering eloping as we will be paying for the wedding ourselves and have very limited funds. I don't want to go to City Hall as that isn't us. Does anyone have any ideas on where you can elope that isn't City Hall or a place like that? Any ideas would be appreciated Smiley smile

My FH and I were planning on doing a fancy elopement after our destination wedding fell through last year. If you're aiming to keep it on the cheap then the suggestions for a private ceremony/dinner are probably your best bet

If you want to have a super small/all inclusive wedding with your closest family and friends, there are places all over the province that are beginning to cater to the "no stress" couples. Search on Google for "elopement packages" and you'll see private homes and traditional venues provide basic/intimate all-inclusive weddings for less than 10 people

To give you an idea, we almost booked this B&B before switching to a traditional (though still small) ceremony/reception. These places will usually provide everything from the officiant to flowers to dinner

That’s what we’re leaning towards. Just immediate family at the “ceremony” then maybe renting out a restaurant afterwards. We’ve got a lot of time as we’re hoping for September 2020, but I want to get some ideas started now so we know how much to save etc. I love everyone’s ideas and thanks again for your support!!!

A small space is nice and immediate family no wedding party needed, just witnesses for signing. Dinner at a restaurant is enough after than anything fancy.

The house can be a place to hold the wedding with simple arch small enough stand in front. Just an idea.

You could rent a private room at a restaurant, hire an officiant, and invite a few people. Or, even a park. I don't think you need to rent space if you don't care where in the park it happens.

That is what we are still trying to figure out. We are thinking just possibly the two of us plus a witness or possibly just having our immediate family but it is still up in the air. We are thinking of getting married September 2020 so we have a lot of time to figure it out, but I want to get some ideas started now so we can plan and save accordingly.

You could always do a backyard wedding? Or a small wedding in the park wouldn't cost too much. And then you could always go to a restaurant for the reception (rent it out). If you are truly wanting to elope and have just the officiant and your witness' attend then you could literally have it at home? How many people would you want there?
