E-vites or Wedding website?

Hélène, on October 10, 2017 at 11:00 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12
Hello to all! I am getting married in June of 2019 (so I’m way in advance here!). My fiancé and i decided to forget paper invitations as, as gorgeous as they look, they’re expensive and a waste of paper. I was about to settle for e-vites and then i saw wedding websites. Any idea on what looks best? I don’t want anything to seem too much or too tacky.
Thanks a lot Smiley smile Helene

Congratulations, Helene. I must suggest that you send paper invites to people over 50 who are not well versed on computer usage. I'm thinking of your grandparents, and other older relatives and friends. As an over 50 bride on this site (almost 60!!), I would want to receive a paper invitation rather than an e-vite. Just saying.

Send an e-vite that directs them to the the wedding website Smiley smile

What I did was I sent everyone a PDF of the invitation by email. They had to RSVP on the wedding website.

We used printed invitation templates from Etsy as well e-vites from the wedding website withjoy.com. Joy was amazing, they track all your RSVP info, the email invites are beautiful, and the wedding website is amazing. Whatever you go with, as long as you guys are happy that's what counts!

I think it is up to you. I have a friend who sent her invitations as attachments to an e-mail as lots of guests were from away. We sent our save the dates via e-mail and then ordered invitations from Vista Print and asked everyone to RSVP on our wedding website.

It would also depend on the crowd. If part of your guests aren't tech-savy, then the e-vites and website are going to be lost on them.

There are a lot of really inexpensive wedding invitation templates on Etsy and Creative Market that you can download + print yourself or use VistaPrint. I agree with other brides that VistaPrint always has a sale going on, plus their prints come with free envelopes!

We're doing a mix: electronic Save the Dates for our out-of-town guests, paper invites and a website (via WeddingWire) for additional info.

    Happy Planning!

We used Paperless Post for our Save the Dates as well. We also liked how it was in an "envelope" which opened up when you clicked on it. We are undecided if we will use it again for the invites or send out the invitations in the mail. Either way, we are doing a wedding website as well. The invitation will just have the basic information--date, place, time, rsvp, and a link to the website. The website will have all the information for accommodations, transportation, registry info, map, etc. I am from a different province from where I am living so most of my guests will be from out of town. We thought it would be easier to have all the information on a website than included with the invitation.

We did our engagement party ones through punchbowl which worked well (you can text the link to people). Cute designs that you can modify yourself, got the job done for free.

You can still get cheaper invites on vistaprint, and look for 50% off sales before you buy. That how I saved money. I paid 140$ for 150 invites and RSVP cards

We used Paperless Post for our Save the Dates. We went with them because they looked like invites, including an envelope, so it was cute that people got to "open" an invite. It wasn't too expensive either and they have an RSVP option as part of the invite, so it was great for that too.
