Dress still isn’t here

So I ordered my dress last March 2021. Was told delivery would be Dec- Feb but most likely February. So I ordered my dress last March 2021. Was told delivery would be Dec- Feb but most likely February. I called on February 1 and the store was a bit rude- telling me not to call, they would call me when it got here and not to stress. They told me “the last week of February at the latest”. It’s now March 12. I called Thursday and Friday and left voicemails with no return call. I called today again, no answer.
While I understand there are delays they cannot control, I’m a bit turned off that they told me not to call them. Also I visited two other bridal stores recently for my bridesmaids upcoming wedding and they both told me this store has a bad habit of making brides pay in full and not ordering their dresses for months. Both stores also told me there is no delays with the supplier I ordered from. I’m a bit concerned. And I’m a bit mad that they’re not even returning the call to attempt some customer service. I need to know if my dress, shape wear and current headpiece are a match for this dress and we’re 96 days away…..

I guess my question is- how aggressive would you be with calling/following up? Dress was paid in full when ordered.

Yes, it was the owner of the store unfortunately.
They don’t have email really- just a store enquiry form (which has a disclaimer of allowing 72 hours between correspondence) but I suppose I could try that if they don’t call back tomorrow. Thank you for the advice

Was it a manager/owner that you spoke to on the phone? If not, I would escalate it to someone who is. Maybe the situation is not as bad as it seems and just handled horribly by a terrible employee.

That being said, I would start putting inquiries into emails so you get a record of all communication (or lack thereof). If they don't get back within the week, I would visit the store and depending on how they handle the situation, start the process for a refund. But put everything in writing.

I would go into the store and speak to them in person. Ask for something in writing on how they will rectify the situation if your dress doesn't come soon.

They’re a pretty high end store- I’m super disappointed at their level of service. I feel the same way. Thanks for feeling mad with me. Im so mad 🤣

With 96 days to go, (personally) I would find a new bridal shop and dress ... like the rudeness of them, and the fact they have a reputation, don't give them your business. I know you already paid in full, so definitely go after them for a refund ... but in the meantime, you're 3 months to the big day, and you need to guarantee you'll have something to wear! You don't need the stress of wondering "Will it actually show up?"

Again, that's just how I would handle it - if they were that rude to you on the phone, I would have 0 trust for them. If they had handled it better, sure, maybe give them a little more time ... but no, I'm angry on your behalf.

If I was ordering my wedding dress and getting closer to wedding day I would be nervous but I wouldn’t be too aggressive in messaging the dress store as they can only do so much. I’d wait a bit to bug them more. For me I’m getting my dress custom made by my mother in law to be so I’d have to wait till next year for her to start doing the dress. Still I’m anxious for mine to get made!
