I'm not setting a dress code. If they are happy I'll be happy. Outside my immediate family and wedding party I don't mind what they wear. If they ask I will tell them it's more on the glamorous side.
We are getting married in a nice venue, we’ll probably have a business casual/ cocktail attire dress code. I don’t really care as long as everyone is dressed 😂 I’m wearing runners for petes sakes.

Ceremony and photos following are formal. Dinner/reception is casual
Since our venue is near a lake with cabins, and we're doing a bonfire option during reception, it is likely that our dress code will be fairly casual-at least for the reception. Ceremony I think will be nicer
Because we are having a themed wedding I requested either people come in costumes or black tie. I didn't want to discourage anyone who didn't want to wear a costume, but black tie would still go with the theme.
I did not formally announce any dress codes, however I did mention to a few family and friends who have asked this question and explained that it will be an elegant wedding at a formal venue and left it out there for them to interpret. More likely than not, word will get around to those who are unsure.
