Does your dress have a train?

Lynnie, on July 31, 2018 at 15:28 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 28

Does your wedding dress have a train? Did you pick a dress with a dramatic sweeping train, or with small train just for the shape? Or did you pick a dress with a sleeker silhouette and don't have to worry about the train or a bustle?

Tell us about your train decision and show off your dress!

I haven't found 'the one' yet, but one thing I definitely won't have is a train. Too much of a klutz...and that plus train equals face plants!

My dress has a very long train but the material is a light fabric that is easy to maneuver around in... I’m also getting it bustled but it’s a way simpler task than most. I just need to make sure the seamstress bustles it so it lies flat (no pouf! Lol)

i also am going with a cathedral length veil... its my only chance to do so so I’m going all in.

Agreed my dress has really thin delicate lace and rather than putting all the weight on one point my seamstress suggested three points which looks perfect (had my final fitting monday)

Your dress is literally perfect Cherry!

Thank you Breanne. I watched lots of youtube on the method of bustling and I learned that if the train is heavy, the more the bustles, the better it will be to prevent the fabric from tearing due to the weight. This DIY will save me $300 to $400 at least (I have to cut and shorten the front too). Smiley smile

This is really pretty bustled Cherry! I love this imagery this creates for your dress

I didn't trust a simply bustle either so mine is a three point.

Mine has a bit of a train that will be bustled later. You can kind of see it in this photo, but once I get the dress in I'll take better photos.

Horrible picture but there’s a lot of dress in there, I’m starting to think of getting a short dress for later on it the evening just for the sake of freedom to move around better

I went with a train! I may regret it in the long run, as it doesn't bustle, and I'll have to carry it on a string, but it'll look super retry so it's okaySmiley winking

I went with a short dress (tea length) so didnt have to worry about stepping on the dress or bustling it at all! I absolutely loved it and was SO COMFY on my wedding day Smiley smile

My dress has huge heavy train. I took it out last weekend and was trying to find the best way to bustle it. After one hour trial and error with different methods, I was very happy with the look of 7 points American Bustles I would make next year, closer to my wedding date.

Mine is longer (I’m also standing on a foot tall stand) lol. I didn’t think I wanted a train until I tried one on. I love it!

My dress has a Huuuuuuuge train, it's an all-over lace strapless sweetheart neckline A-line gown (that's a mouthful holy!) AND it has pockets AHH!!! This apparently wasn't dramatic enough for me, so I also have a double layer Vera Wang Cathedral veil with lace appliques along the edge. I feel like an absolute princess and I cannot wait to get married in it.

I haven’t purchased my dress as yet but I know I don’t want a train or a bustle.

I would LOVE pockets, but only if it suits the dress.

I don't have my dress yet, but I definitely 100% do not want a train. I personally don't like the look of a bustle.

Honestly I thought I didn't want one but when I tried on my dress it was my favourite feature. It's not super long but I think the lace details are extremely delicate and pretty.

My dress has a longer train. I didn't go into it looking for one, but I'm so glad I got it. I love it!

Thanks, me too. I hated all the handkerchief hems I tried on before this dress, but I loved this one - it's just much softer than others, and the 'flow' into the train was gentle.

I ended up with a dress with a train. Originally I thought I didn't want this feature then I ended going with it. The train isn't too long.

My dress has a small train - I love the way the hem flows into it. I have always wanted a train - this is a nice balance between practical and pretty!

Although I have yet to even go shopping for a dress I really would love to have a long train and a long veil as well. Of course I would also like it to be a tear away dress for the reception portion of the evening but we will see about that... lol
