Did you shop for an engagement ring before or after the proposal?

He shopped before the engagement on his own.

I had sent him pictures of what I liked for months, and he loves his diamonds, so I was not worried about what he would pick. We both had the same mind set when it came to design, shape etc. I think it was easy for him to pick one!

No shopping before the proposal! Seeing as how I was the one who popped the question, he was glad I didn't get him a ring as it would be weird for him to wear one before we get married.

Instead I went to Claire's (when they were still a thing...) and got some bracelets that say "Her One" and "His Only" on them Then when he said yest we went and got a ring custom made for me.

He told me he wanted to marry me and be a proper family (we have 2 girls together) so I should look at some rings, I found one, the one! and we went together to see it in person. I wanted him to ask my parents and he did. There was no surprise element to it all, but I was ok with that.

We did it before! I wanted a custom ring and we used gold from my great grandmother's wedding ring and her diamonds to create something special for me.

He picked it before proposing, and selected one he thought I'd love - and he was right!

I knew what ring I had wanted (Tiffany Novo) and he had saved the webpage on his computer like super early on...I feel like 3 months in he had it saved.

He didn’t actually like how small the Novo was along the sides, so he ended up designing my ring based off of the Novo but it’s so much better!

It was was purchased in secret before the proposal

He bought it secretly beforehand, although I'd sent him links to what I liked. He got both my sisters to find out their sizes then picked the one in between, then shipped it to my aunt and uncle's house in Calgary since he knew he'd be out there for work. It was all very sneaky

He purchased it in secret before proposing! He new I loved rose gold and got what he thought would like which I loved. He got the size from my sister and how showed few people the ring before hand. He did the traditional asking parents as I had requested he do when its time.
