Did you need to get your ring resized?

Lynnie, on January 7, 2019 at 13:05 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 22

Was your engagement ring a perfect fit, or did you have to get it resized? 💍 Was it too big, too small, or just right?

If you had to get your ring resized - how long did it take?

We had gone ring shopping and they sized me. My fiancé ended up buying the rings second hand and did have to resize mine before he proposed!

We purchased my engagement ring online. I printed out the ring sizer and it said 6. So we ordered size 6. It was too big. I had to resize it to 5.25. I went to a gold smith instead of to jewelry stores after few days' of researching and reading reviews. I found that if I went to jewelry stores, it would take 2 weeks and the cost ranging from $75 to $110. With the gold smith, it only took 24 hours if you left it or if you want to wait, it would only take 2 hours and the cost was only $45. Most jewelry stores send their orders to the gold smith anyway and of course the stores marked up the price.

I was working on losing weight when my honey proposed. My engagement ring was a size 9. I wore a "ring sizer" on the back to keep it snug during weight loss. We took it to the jeweler my ring was bought from & he sized it to a 5 1/2. I had to wait 2 whole weeks! I didn't like that!
Last Saturday we choose my Wedding ring and I am now at my lowest weight. To my surprise the jeweler took my ring again to size it to a 5... I'm happy because it was feeling too loose & unsafe. I'm also glad my Wedding ring will be sized right when its being made. We pick up our rings this Saturday so only a 1 week wait this time 💍 I am so excited to get my engagement ring and also our Wedding rings.

I had to get my ring resized down one size, it took two weeks to get it done and honestly it felt like the longest two weeks of my life waiting to get to wear it!

We picked it out together, so it was the right size. But he gave me a placeholder ring beforehand and it was the right size too (a tiny bit too big but I could manage with it).

We picked out rings together so mine fit me perfectly as he knew my size.

I had to get mine taken down a whole size and the lady at the store had the NERVE to say that I had fat knuckles!!! They've been fine every other time we've gone, though.
It only took a few days, I think.

The ring was...an interesting adventure in conflict management.
Not only was it too small, it was white gold (which I had told him more than once I’m allergic to), and so not my style.
So, resized, reset in yellow gold, still not my style at all. But, I only wear it half-time because of the work I do, so I’ll make it work.
It’s beautiful, just nothing even remotely like the ring I had always imagined, wanted and had shown him.

No! phew. My FH is an engineer and I would play with his pinky ring sometimes and it fit just right on my finger, so it was an easy way to measure!

Yes! Funny story he ordered it in a 6.5, and I had mentioned my sephora ring was a size 7
... so he got it sized... and now we will have to size again as it's a bit too big hahha! When we go for the wedding band I'll get it all done proper!

Twice, actually! My FH got be a size 5, which we switched for a 4.25 that was still too big! Around the same time, the band split, so when we sent it back to have it fixed we also got it resized to an even 4.

For sure had to get my ring resized. FH bought a size 7 because they didn't have a smaller size at the store. Had to get it sized to just under a 6!

My fiancé bought me a size 5, which fits during the colder months, but unfortunately gets too tight during the summer so yes, I will eventually have to get mine resized before the wedding! I'm closer to a 5.5 or 5.75.

My FH bought my ring as a size 6, which was WAY too small for my fat size 8 finger haha. This took them like 3 weeks ugh. Then my wedding band as well, was a size 7 and is currently being sized to an 8. Taking them 2 weeks.

Since I was the one that proposed to my man, I got to get my ring custom made! Which means that it was a perfect fit and exactly what I wanted!!
