Guilty - I think everyone ends up doing this for at least one or two guests.

I was forced by my husband because of an acquaintance I knew and didn't want there in the first place. There was a condition put on the obligation that I wouldn't say a word to her or have anything to do with her. Surely I kept my word that day.

Guilty, it's hard to know where to draw the line to not offend anyone. Plus people that my in laws requested be invited even though I have never met them and they haven't talked in years..

Guilty, but only because it's rude to only invite half a couple and we wanted their partner there.

Guilty, I invited two cousins and their families who I had never met. I didn't actually even know their last names before the wedding. But we were inviting all cousins and my parents encouraged me to, so I did it. They didn't even RSVP. Though in a strange turn of events I met one of the cousins for the first time just a few months ago and he is really awesome!

Guilty. Some are my in-laws friends, some family who we suspect will not attend, given they are feuding with other family members

Mostly innocent actually. No friends parents, no kids, no out of province family members, no plus ones for anyone not dating someone or someone we don’t care to have there. Fiancé and I decided to be sort of ruthless about it and I’m glad we’re sticking to our guns, we really only wanted people we actually knew and cared about there.

I haven't sent out invitations yet but there are a few in my rough draft of my guest list that I feel like could be on there out of obligation

Yes, unfortunately we had to go the political route and invite a few family members we could have done without.
